Since one of my characters writes in a non-human language, I chose to make these by (tablet)hand.
Holly's Gnommish is rather messy - she doesn't really like writing, and since it takes a while to write anything in the language, she tends to just scrawl things out quickly, so she can get back to doing things she considers more productive. She doesn't even tend to write things by hand much, either, since Haven uses computers for almost everything. As for writing in English - Holly's fluent in spoken and written English due to the gift of tongues, and even though she can write in it, since it's not her first language, she doesn't really have the muscle memory for it, so her English can be messy and awkward to down-right illegible, depending on how much time she's willing to take on it and make it look nice.
As for Terry, he tends to write pretty heavy-handedly. He doesn't have great hand writing, but it's legible, at least. Because 2050-Gotham is a no-paper future, he's really more used to just typing then writing by hand, so he doesn't really pay attention to trying to keep things in nice, straight lines like people who were trained to write using lined paper were.
