1. Received his entire primary and secondary education, age 5 through 17, in a one-room school setting held in the Pueblo village church. By age 14 he was actually smarter than the teacher. 2. On a related note, he had read and mostly understood every book in the village by age 10. His grandfather started purchasing a new book or two every time he went into the city. 3. The university he attended/worked at was the Universidad de Complutense in Madrid. 4. His little black book contains over 30 entries. He does not brag about this unless you get a few drinks in him. 5. He actually wears glasses while working or reading. He doesn't wear them the rest of the time because he feels like it works against the image he's trying to give off. 6. He barely remembers his parents, who left him with his grandfather when he was very small and never returned. He doesn't resent them for this nearly as much as you might expect. 7. Closet Catholic. He won't tell you so. 8. While he's working in the lab, he listens almost exclusively to opera music. 9. He never really got along with his former (evil) employer, Osmund Saddler. He found Saddler stuffy and oppressive, and Saddler found him insolent and rebellious. He'd often work little vengeance plots against Saddler where he could. It's really no wonder Saddler ended up killing him... 10. Technically, he's not really a doctor. Luis was 14 pages away from finishing his doctoral thesis when he was called away from university to investigate the Las Plagas outbreak. He will not be admitting this to anyone-- since, as far as he's concerned, he knows as much as he would if he was a doctor, so the rest is just paperwork.
