She sees a lot more than he thinks there is to him. Mostly, she wants to see him do well. While that could have been accomplished without dating him, there are a lot of similarities between them that she couldn't ignore. She appreciates his attempts to be normal with her, and returns that as much as she can when he isn't being ill all over the place.
