Mai thinks of Katara as being in her "circle of people I don't hate/actually care about". Friend of Zuko's and all that. She... likes her, even if she doesn't always understand her. She's never going to understand why Katara cares so much about saving everyone and it's a bit frustrating. Otherwise, there's not much else to say.
