More than anyone else anywhere ever, The Doctor is Jamie's family. He's the best friend and mentor and person Jamie absolutely trusts the most. He's clever, and wise and willing to put up with seventeen million questions. He's shown Jamie a whole new world he never dreamed of, and while there's danger, there's excitement there as well. He's changed some, but there's still so much of his Doctor there that Jamie can see. He's very glad that he's awake.
(He's also glad Eleven's not going to insist on calling him Mr. The Doctor.)
