I think Eleven sees Jamie as a second chance. A dangerous one, because he's still not sure what he should do with him post-Stacy, but Eleven's going to just wing it from here and he's totally missed Jamie like whoa, even if he's had plenty of time to adjust to him being gone beforehand. What I think he enjoys about Jamie is that not only is he a good person, but he's also wiling to challenge him, even if it's ruffling his feathers and he has to double-take because Jamie is one of the humans who puts his foot down. But it's a good kind of double-take.
Jamie's definitely a close friend, especially for being there when he was...young. Youngish. :| The Power Rangers thing to him is Very Very Interesting because he's curious to see how his resident Highlander is going to...deal with the Zord.
