Goliath has had a lot of respect for Rhiow's prowess as a wizard since they tag-teamed Zuko during the ragevirus plot. He doesn't know how she compares in terms of power to the other wizards of her world, but wizardry in Gargoyles canon is not nearly so seamless and subtle as the wizardry she's demonstrated. Goliath finds himself respecting her magical competence as he would a warrior, and he's adjusting decently to the idea of respecting a wizard cat as a warrior.
Given that Goliath has always been fighting against sorcerers, not alongside them, Rhiow represents a potentially very good ally for him to have, and he thinks that they ought to continue fighting together, since their teamwork was decent that first time around.
He also sees her as a potential friend - someone he already knows and thinks well of, though he doesn't truly know her yet, and someone he'd like to make a good friend, regardless of their potential to be AWESOME CRIMEFIGHTING PARTNERS.
