Jamie is proud to have Lash be one of the members of his team, even if she does keep saying she wants to put lasers on everything under the sun. He's a little more protective about her and Kate than he is Andy and Ron, even if neither one of them need it. It's just how he is.

On a more personal level, he does like her, and thinks of her as a friend. He can't imagine that it must have been easy for her to grow up in the world she did, but he can tell she's trying to move away from it, which is good. He's also a little grateful that she seems to have some of the same problems he does when it comes to the unfamiliar aspects of life on Stacy. The other Rangers don't seem to have those problems, and it makes connecting with them a bit harder.

And he did notice she looked very bonny in her dress at the masquerade, btw.
