Jono likes Kate. She's a good kid in a really hard situation. They've also both been on the ship since the beginning, so it's kind of a unique situation. He's also always glad to have someone around who knows music. And he absolutely sympathizes with her about the loss of a best friend.

They should probably still talk more often, though.
