1 - Sex Swap! Surprise, you're suddenly the opposite sex of what you were before. Is your partner too (that depends on them)? If your character has neither, either ignore this one, or feel free to give them one now. Double the surprise!

2 - Soul Swap! Oh no! Looks like something malfunctioned on the ship and now you and your tagging partner have switched bodies. Will you try to fix it? ...Will one of you take advantage of it?

3 - Memory Swap! It appears you and your poor friend were stuck in a malfunction caused by Stacy and she has accidentally given each of you each other's precious memories. Not all of them mind you, but really important ones, especially the type you wouldn't want share around. What do you do now? How will this affect your relationship?

4 - Animal Swap! Oh fiddlesticks. Something went terribly wrong in the sensoriums and you've been turned into an animal. What is it? How does your partner react? Are you turned into an animal too? Can you fix this problem or will you be stuck like this...even when you step out?

"I..." he shakes his head, as if to clear it. "These are your memories." It's halfway between a statement and a question. They're so alien to him that they don't even seem real; they're easily compartmentalized and shoved aside.

"I have memories that I think are yours. They are - distinct from my own. Nothing about your internal processes," she is quick to add. "Memories of fighting, and of a plague on Earth.

"Do you think you are missing any memories?"

"Not that I know of. Just additions. Being a secretary. And you were... you killed people. A lot of people."

"Yes." She blinks and her eyes drift for a second, then come back to his face. She stands straight, hands at her sides, her own face blank.

"I suffered from severe mental illness from the ages of nineteen to twenty-two. I was ill enough that I was unable to ask for help. And I killed a lot of people." Her hand goes to the right side of her head. "And it took two years of drug-aided therapy and constant medical monitoring to cure me. But I am stable now."

Zouichi has killed as well, but in defense, and to defend.

"Great. Right." He actually wants to scrub himself clean right now. He's killed, most likely far more people than Anwei has, but he's never really felt this dirty before. Honestly, he doesn't want to know what it feels like to be Anwei, doesn't want to understand.

"Well, if that's all you got, I guess I should be grateful. Could have been a lot worse."

She dips her head on her heavy neck. "I apologize for intruding on your memories. It was none of my doing, I assure you. I will not discuss them with anyone else."

She touches a finger to her lips in thought. "Hopefully there will not be any other transfers." The crease inbetween her brows is from her scowling at the nearest tentacled wall, living symbol of Stacy's presence all around them. She was the most likely culprit for this - reshuffling.

"It's fine. It's not like it's your fault. It's just the ship again." It's always the ship, waking them up, putting them back to sleep, sticking memories in whoever it feels like.

"Wonder how long it'll last this time."

"I was warned about telepathic AIs. That they inevitably started to fragment, unless their minds were maintained with perfect precision. It would be safer to put us all back into stasis, grow another ship that works, and then have us transfer." But of course this isn't about safety, is it? This is war.

"If you have a convenient way of partitioning and deleting my memories, I have no objection. It doesn't seem that they were erased from my mind." Though if some of the killing ones faded, she would not object.

"Right. The fragmentation is the problem." It's like every time Zouichi thinks his opinion of the ship has hit rock bottom, it shows him how much it leaves to be desired all over again. He hopes someone sets it on fire. After everyone's safely off, of course. It's a malevolent hunk of junk.

Zouichi nodded, closing his eyes briefly. Some traces of the memories would remain, of course, but he wouldn't have to remember it with such clarity if he didn't need to worry about cramming them (gently!) back into Anwei's head. With extreme (gentle!) prejudice.

It feels much, much better.

There was nothing wrong with Stacy that couldn't be fixed, in her opinion, by the firm guidance of another, superior AI. Who was not here.

"A possibly fatal problem if this continues. What if she starts swapping around more memories, so people can't do their jobs? I'd better write up something for Medical, in case another case of this shows up. Don't worry, I won't use any specific details about what was copied over."

Zouichi's mind was so precise, his memories so sharp and clear, like sunshine after cloudy nights. She didn't want to forget them, and she was certain that they would never meld into her own. To remember being so strong and sure, to know what you had to do and to know that it was right. It was something she hadn't known in a long, long time. And probably never would again.

"I'd appreciate it. I don't generally let people know about my body counts, and I'd prefer to keep it that way." They'd get in the way of his work.

Zouichi wasn't crazy about someone else keeping his memories, but if they'd help Anwei in some way, he wouldn't begrudge her the attempt to keep a copy. He just wished the ship had given him a choice. But as usual, it hasn't.

"I don't believe I received information that was that detailed. I hope that you didn't either." This must be very unpleasant for Zouichi; he had probably never thought that he'd be stuck in someone else's head, like a hand thrust into a bees'-nest.

Then again, none of them planned on being stuck here either, did they?

"All the better. And I wouldn't know, since most of the details are already gone. I trust that you'll keep what you remember in confidence." He nodded politely to her. "And now, if you don't mind, I'd like to go take my mind off the trace memory that remains."

"Completely understandable. Be well, Zouichi." She nods back to him.
