Interesting things about the character: - Responsible for most of the technological and war-related inventions of Black Hole. - Calls herself a perky goth in the 3rd game when you defeat her during a campaign. "No more miss nice perkygoth!" - There is very little information about Lash apart if you overread the lines (like I do) - Starts out as a rival CO in Black Hole in AW2 (A foil for Sonja), where she is quite cruel and does things like bombing Olaf's entire hometown just for the fun of it and mentally plays around with Sonja's emotions. Her disregard for her own troops is pretty evident as well. - Does a heel-face-turn in the 3rd game when both her and Hawke are thrown out by the new leaders of Black Hole, the Bolt Guard for finding out the real mission; using their device to obtain immortality at the death of the entire planet. Because conquering the world is much more humanized, you see. - Is called a wunderkind by her character profile. - Canonly her hit and miss (which are equivalent to likes and dislikes) are "getting what she wants" and "not getting it" respectively. - In the 2nd game she uses more tee hee and toddles and the 3rd game switches to tee hee hee. - The last line she says in the 3rd game is "Maybe I do care a little." proving that she's slowly changing towards caring...not that she'd ever admit it. - She has a tattoo of Black Hole on her arm that is only visible under UV light - Lash has ironically never known true freedom, always following someone else's order, for all the independence she seems to sprout.
Interesting things about the canon/fandom: - Advance Wars was the Gameboy Advance and DS continuation of the Nintendo Wars game series. These are the first games to see in the North American Market. Famicom Wars (the first) was released in 1988. - The games also had a series of ads that stayed mostly intact from the first to the last. - Advance Wars 1, 2 and Dual Strike are part of the same universe and continue the story of each other. The other games have different COs and storylines. - The games are considered sleeper hits, not getting much press but getting stellar reviews. Notice that in the Strategy game reviews of all time, AW has the 4th (behind heavy hitters like Company of Heroes, Civilization IV and Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos), 11th, and 12th. Considering the competition it's a pretty good testament to the games. - This review says all I could ever say about the games, and more. - The 2nd game had the worst cover ever. Lash what the hell. - Don't try to understand the physics behind the games. COs that have powers based on the fact their troops get killed and damaged unleash god-like states after a while. Despite the storyline, there seems to be a disregard for the troops a lot of times that has been parodied in a few comics.
