The "Ask Characters Questions" Meme!

Okay guys, this is pretty simple but should be fun, and give us all something to do as we wait for things to happen as plot to progresses.

Post your character, and people can ask them things ICly or OOCly, as themselves or as their characters.

For example, "Hey Chief, what do you think of [x]?" or "Hey Zita, what does Chief think of [x]?"

Characters do not strictly have to answer honestly, but it's more fun (and more funny) if you make them!

Other than that, go nuts and have fun!

This should highlight some interesting social dynamics.

So, Sheeana, how would you describe the meatship crew as a whole in a few words?

((apologies for postfail))

The Meatship tests the rigidity of the mind of the abductee. With their status abruptly changed to that of a common soldier, the elite of their universes flail and rage. Interestingly, it is often those from the most oppresive realities that adopt the best to their new situation. Muad'dib said it best:

There should be a science of discontent. People need hard times and oppression to develop psychic muscles.

Here we have a rich sampling of discontent. Our only problem is lack of a control group.

Wow. I'd never think to phrase it quite so eloquently, but you're absolutely right. What doesn't kill our crew will strengthen them---hopefully---but it's been foretold that several will die.

But I'm getting off the subject. Here, the crew are pawns in an unknown game when before the abduction many were heroes, never faced a battle they couldn't win without too much help. It's fun to watch them learn.

Beware foretelling. I know well its dangers.

Fun? It's absolutely hilarious!

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
What exactly is your problem with me?

[identity profile] worm-dancer.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
Leto sacrificed too much...I sacrificed too much to prevent a machine future. Talking to one is too much to ask.

In other words what you're seeing is social discomfort and awkwardness which I reflexively translate into condescension and oblique insults

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
Firstly, I'm not. A. Machine.

Second, is it that much to ask that we at least co-operate civilly in order to find a way home for everyone?

Or does your narrow view insist that, since I'm inorganic, I can't possibly have feelings for you to offend?

[identity profile] worm-dancer.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
You have no organic parts to you. You were built.

I am being civil. Most people from my universe would have killed you already.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
That's an assumption on your part and also incorrect. My species did not start out as inorganic, it's a process we undergo.

I suppose you expect me to thank you for that?

And you didn't answer my third question.

[identity profile] twelvevoltman.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
So, what's behind the machine-person hate-on?

[identity profile] worm-dancer.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
You would too if you had my memories.

[identity profile] twelvevoltman.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
Enlighten me. I'm curious.

[identity profile] worm-dancer.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
I am a Reverend Mother. I have memories going back to the time of the machine tyrants. I only have to call it up and I am there: the screaming, the smell of human entrails, the hiding in hovels as the whirring of machines gets ever closer.

I don't hate you, Allen Gentry, although your cyberization makes me uncomfortable.

[identity profile] twelvevoltman.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
Well hey, if you did, I wouldn't be surprised. There are reasons I never revealed my cyberization to the scientific public back on my Earth, and a future like that was one of them.

[identity profile] worm-dancer.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
Truly? How did you know such a future was possible?

[identity profile] twelvevoltman.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Blame James Cameron.

Robot holocaust is a popular scifi-horror trope in 20-21st-century Earth entertainment.

[identity profile] worm-dancer.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Then perhaps the people of my reality lived the aftereffects of someone else's storytelling?

[Heh feel free to canon puncture]

[identity profile] twelvevoltman.livejournal.com 2009-10-24 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
[I would, but Allen is too polite.]

That, or somebody had a good sense of anticipation.

[identity profile] forced-unlife.livejournal.com 2009-10-25 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
How dost thou truly see me, milady?

[identity profile] worm-dancer.livejournal.com 2009-10-25 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I consider you a friend, Khel. If you want a romantic relationship, I am afraid physics prevents that. Even if that were not so, you would do well to think twice before asking that. Though we Bene Gesserit are famous as concubines, you never know when I would be sent to seduce another man for the purposes of our order. And despite that I could, I would not deceive you.

[identity profile] forced-unlife.livejournal.com 2009-10-25 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Peace, I spake not of such things. I asked because of thy interest in my dark powers and abilities. I feared thou might see me as a tool more than anything else.

[identity profile] worm-dancer.livejournal.com 2009-10-26 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
In a way I see everyone as a tool, most of all myself. To a Bene Gesserit, all loyalties are subservient to serving humanity. But within that, we have dear friends, even loved ones.

[identity profile] forced-unlife.livejournal.com 2009-10-26 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Forgive me my dpubts, then, milady. Trust comes uneasily to one of my history, and romance ... were I a man once more, capable of touch and sensation, perhaps I might have considered it.

As it is, I am uncertain I even remember what pain and pleasure are anymore.
