The "Ask Characters Questions" Meme!
Okay guys, this is pretty simple but should be fun, and give us all something to do as we wait for things to happen as plot to progresses.
Post your character, and people can ask them things ICly or OOCly, as themselves or as their characters.
For example, "Hey Chief, what do you think of [x]?" or "Hey Zita, what does Chief think of [x]?"
Characters do not strictly have to answer honestly, but it's more fun (and more funny) if you make them!
Other than that, go nuts and have fun!

As far as the politics, well, people on this ship seem to have forgotten that we were taken from our worlds by some unknown quantity. We don't know if it it's hostile, friendly, somewhere in between or what. But everyone is walking around this ship like everything is hunky dory. Everyone has gotten complacent. They're acting like they know nothing bad could possibly happen to them.
Even after everything we've been through, they're still pretending that we're in control of this damn thing. I mean, hell, just look at how many people spend their time doinking around in the sensoriums rather than actually doing something productive. They're acting like this is some sort of damn resort.
So, no, maybe what I did wasn't politically convenient, but at least when I saw a threat to everyone's safety I tried to do something about it rather than run off and hide and pretend it wasn't really there.

If you wanted to avoid casualties, it would have made more sense to wait until they'd moved the Yeerk to stasis, and lowered their guard. As if stands you've made so much noise that it's irrelevant, unless you manage to find some kind of ally who's beyond reproach to do the infiltration for you.
As for the rest...
Self-delusion is one of the most common coping mechanisms of the human mind. Whether they're just wasting time or not is irrelevant. For whatever reason, the general consensus is to follow this 'great destiny,' and for that reason, all we can do is wait for orders from whatever's in charge of this nonsense.
Unless you think trying to leave the ship entirely and finding out if we can get somewhere that'll sustain human life before our supplies run out is more productive.
