Arha blinked and caught the ball, stared at him, over balanced, and promptly topped headlong into the shallows with a startled flail. It was not if she had not had thoughts (too many thoughts...too many very graphic thoughts) before, it was simply distracting.

Pleasantly dis--

She hit the water and the ball went flying. Arha sank like a rock and flailed in an attempt to make herself go upward.

Obi-Wan caught at the flailing fremen by the waist with both hands, and against her own best efforts held her head above the waves until she calmed. Of course, he held back from laughing at her only by dint of sever self control and the certainty that she would gut him like a fish the moment they were both back on dry land.

The cursing she spewed was translatable without the need for an actual translator. Some things were left in their original language, anyway. It was about as pleasant as it sounded. Arha was curing the water and the rock and ball--but not Obi-Wan.

She clung to him fiercely.

With her fingers dug into the back of his waistband for purchase.

Arha went dead silent and very still.

"I did not wish to fall in," she grumbled against his collarbone.

Obi-Wan let her cling for a moment longer, cocking an eyebrow. The water only came up to a little over his bellybutton as it was, and he rolled his eyes with a grin as he told her, "Put your feet down. It's quite shallow enough to stand in."

As stoically as she could manage, she did so and flushed, feeling far more stupid than she had felt in quite some time. The water could not eat her if it could not reach her head.

"Oh," she managed, biting her bottom lip. "So it is." Arha did not let go of him.

And now he laughed at her, unable to hold it in any longer, "There's nothing to be afraid of, I promise you."

"It is water," she muttered and poked at him gently. "Too much of a good thing can kill." It was also salty water. Arha licked her lips absently and tilted her chin to glance up at him.

"I am cautious. If I feared it, I should be back on the sand faster than a worm on a Harvester." Her fingers slipped against his hip and she grumbled under her breath. "But I am still here."

One hand on her waist, and the other took Arha's wrist, like a ballroom dancer, and backed a cautious, water-slowed step out of the Rock's immediate vicinity.

"Well, since you are not afraid," He teased, leading her away from that dubious safety, "Then let us try a little farther from shore, hmm?"

"Farther?!" she managed in a strangled voice, bug-eyed and attempting to suppress alarm. "Father, he says. Well. Fine." He would not let the water eat her...if he knew what was good for him.

"Fine," she muttered under her breath. "I am not afraid of salty water."
