Don't look now, Leon, but there are a pair of big blue eyes staring at you.

And staring.

And staring.

Sherry pushes the hammock so it swings a little, "...Dad."

"Sweetheart."

Yes, he's alive. Despite his lack of movement.

Well, that's a relief. Sherry pauses to weigh the pros and cons of tipping her father out of his hammock.

The question is: does she feel lucky~~, punk~~?

She stares at him for a little longer, and decides to clamber in next to him, "Move over." Wet child in your space in three, two, one...

Considering her father is a ninja? And can hoist her up with one hand? That was the better move, leaving him as he was.

Having a wet child invade his space made him tense up briefly at first, mostly cause he, stupidly, expected her to be dry. But he shifted a little to give her some space and settle in.

"So I take it you had fun today?"

He expected her to be dry when there was a great, big ocean to splash in? Silly Leon.

"Mmhmm," Well, an understatement. There was the Soaking of Dr Sera, followed by the Starfish Torture, followed by coloring a giant stone statue that wasn't a statue at all... "You could say that."

"Did you know Dr Sera can run really fast?" Not as fast as Kelly, but...

He quite lazily messed up her hair a little.

"Yeah, I knew that. What happened, someone sneak up on him with an octopus, or something?" Which, honestly, he was going to suggest to Kon or Paco that they should do that a little later. The tentacle arms would probably make Luis jump out of his skin.

The sea and sand sucked much of the fight out of her, so Sherry lifts her head to give him a half-felt lineface, Daddy-Why-Would-You?, and replies, "No, I emptied a bucket of seawater on his back. There was a starfish in it." God, she hates tube feet. When did Nature decide 'tube feet' were a good idea? "He chased me with the starfish."

And then to keep her ~~title as fastest Resident Evil Character Ever~~ reputation, "...But he only caught me when I tripped." She put her head back down. "Then he named the starfish Pablo. Daddy? Your friends are weird."

Leon chuckled at that. She was so a little Redfield-Kennedy. ~~He must start her ninja training soon.~~

"I know. But I usually make my friends in very weird situations." Where there's usually lots of running involved, unfortunately.

Sherry shrugged and covered her eyes with her hand. Too bright, the sun needed to dim down! "I guess that's true. Mom and all," she grinned and stifled a yawn.

"But... he named the starfish Pablo." That was weird, even for him.

Don't fight the yawn, Sherry. The hammock is feeding off your life energy!

Well, no, its not. But it's really comfy.

Leon just shook his head. "Point. Even that is a bit out there for Luis. Maybe he spent a bit too much time in the sun?"

"Or he really likes tube feet," Sherry pointed out. She shuddered, remembering them stuck to her suit, and they could open up mussels and ewwwww.

Point against Dr. Sera for being creepy over a starfish. "I had fun, though," she added. "What did you do?" Despite her slathering in sunblock, there's a pink tinge on her nose and cheeks. Being a natural blonde is pain, especially when one has zero sun resistance (and Steve thought he had it bad? Pfft).

"Tube feet?" That was a new one.

"Anyway, I bombed the Master Chief and Kelly with waterballoons," he mentioned casually. "Took a dip in the water, a few other things."

Sherry held up her hands and wiggled them, "Starfish have tube feet. That's how they get around, but they look and feel gross and stick to everything." She shuddered and put her hands down.

Think of them as tiny tentacle feet, Leon, and you're on the right track. Sherry sat up to give him a wide-eyed look. "Did you get away?" She doubted it. A lot. But she had to ask.

That is what he's thinking of. And, yes, it is kind of disgusting.

"From the Chief and Kelly? Nope." Sorry, sweetheart, your dad is human. "But I fought them to the bitter end and left them soaked," he stated somewhat proudly.

"Good for you," she smiled and made herself comfortable again. Well, he'd tried, at least. ~~Don't worry, Leon, you'll always be her favorite ninja.~~ The hammock swayed a little unsteadily as she moved.

"Kelly runs really, really fast," Sherry observed and closed her eyes again. "I want to be as fast as she is someday." So she was a little jealous.

He put his arm around her and gave her a little squeeze.

"Yeah, she can move." That much he had to admit. "But if you work hard, I'm sure you can be as fast as her one day."

Don't lie to your daughter, Leon, it's not nice.

"Mmhmm." Sherry sighed and felt herself start drifting off. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she took a small nap, and her answer was long in coming, like it usually was before she went to sleep. "I'll beat her someday," she mumbled.

Hey, she's a little Redfield-Kennedy, she's capable of much badassery.

"I know."
