"You... have plaid swimtrunks. Somehow, I'm not surprised at all." Wyn says, giving Jamie a Look from over her sunglasses. "Nice sandcastle, though. It's all... actual-castle-resembling."

Jamie grins over at Wyn, which makes him look even younger than he usually does. "Well, aye. Plaid is good, but ye know that."

He turns his attention back to the castle, looking at it proudly. "And thank ye. I wanted to see if I could create one from memory. It's not so bad." And now that it's built...he looks back to Wyn with a distinctly impish expression on his face.

"Want to help me destroy it?"

"I do, but everything doesn't have to be plaid." Like Wyn's bikini, for example, which is an eye-searingly bright turquoise and fuchsia stripe.

"Do you even have to ask!?" she asks, grinning brightly. The prospect of mayhem and destruction (and maybe a little bit of pretending to be Godzilla) has made her forget all about the possibility of getting sunburnt.
bonnypiperlad: (seriously?)

Jamie takes one look at the bikini, and his eyes go wide before he firmly plants his gaze on Wyn's feet. "That's, uh...colorful." And way more revealing than he's used to, but he's not in the mood to pick a fight over what is proper attire for a woman. So he decides to simply get off the subject by getting back to the castle.

"So, lasses first - ye get the choice of how ye want to destroy the castle." Lead and he will follow. Or something.

Wyn can practically feel the waves of disapproval emanating from Jamie, but if he's not going to pick a fight then she won't either.

"And I left my laser on the ship." she says with a sigh. Yes, that was a serious suggestion. "Wanna just kick it over?"

You would think he would be used to the idea by now, but sometimes he's still a little old-fashioned - one more thing he needs to work on. He does stop looking at her feet after a few seconds, though, figuring that's not going to help the situation, and gives Wyn a small, apologetic smile.

He is disappointed at not being able to use the laser. "I would have liked to see that." He's completely serious. It would have been /really/ neat. "I had gotten some rocks to lay seige to it, but maybe we can pretend to be giant space aliens or monsters or something while we kick it over, aye?"

[identity profile] madeofwyn.livejournal.com 2009-10-28 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Wyn returns the smile, although hers is far brighter. All is forgiven, Jamie!

Wyn should really just learn that she always needs to keep a laser with her. Even on shore leave, on a planet that appeared to be nothing but beach. "Laying siege works too. ... might actually be more fun, that." she says thoughtfully. As long as she gets some destruction, she's happy.
bonnypiperlad: (So...)

Jamie walks around the castle to where he's prepared his pile of rocks. It's pretty much whatever he could find in the area, so it's a mix of shapes and sizes. There's also a seashell on the top, which he carefully sets aside. He picks up a good sized rock that's been rounded smooth by the ocean and hefts it experimentally. Satisfied, he offers it to Wyn.

"I couldna find enough things to try and build a catapult, so.." He shrugs. Flinging rocks at the castle will work, in his opinion. "Feel free to start with this one if ye like, or pick your own." And then the destruction can begin!

"Yeah, that's too bad. There isn't much to build with on this beach, is there?" It's kind of a shame, in Wyn's opinion; she had to resort to actually drawing things instead of building them.

Wyn carefully sets her notebook down and takes the rock, tilting her head at the castle thoughtfully. She takes careful aim and then hurls the rock at one of the castle towers, completely obliterating it. She might be five-foot-nothing and a hundred-and-nothing, but she sure doesn't throw like a girl. (Her brothers saw to that, at least.)

"Nice shot!" Jamie's scooped up another rock, and he lets it fly at one of the ramparts, cutting a nice-sized chunk out of it. Sand sprays everywhere - which seems to give him an idea. "Keep at it! I'll be right back!" He grabs the bucket he had been using and runs down to fill it up with water.

Wyn shrugs and lets another rock fly at the model Loch Ness monster in the moat. "All right!" she calls after Jamie.
bonnypiperlad: (lookythere)

Jamie, true to his word, is back fairly quickly, water slopping over the sides of the bucket and soaking his feet. He doesn't care, though, since they're already wet.

"I think that perhaps a wee flood would be in order," he comments cheerfully. He's not actually looking so much at the castle when he says that, though, but at Wyn. And there might - just might - be a impish gleam in his eye, there.
