The "Ask Characters Questions" Meme 2: The Sequel!

Is this really necessary? You've already done one of these— oh, fine.

Post here, and answer questions that are asked of you. Enjoy yourselves.

This should be easy. There's nothing to ask about.

As someone who's piloted a giant robot before (long story) how do you keep them, from, uh, y'know, smashing lots of buildings?

[identity profile] riseupnchargem.livejournal.com 2009-11-20 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
By having fights out in the middle of deserts, mostly.

...That would do it, wouldn't it.

Okay, another question: If you had a choice between one of two, would you prefer being able to fly or piloting a giant robot?

'Cause I gotta say, as someone who flies, I still want a giant robot. :|

I've flown in a giant robot, but I guess that's not what you actually mean.

I think I'd stick with the giant robots, actually. 's kind of a nice feeling, learning to control something with that much power, figuring out how it works and all that.

...what's it like to fly on your own?

[identity profile] so-pregnable.livejournal.com 2009-11-20 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
This is the weird thing, but for me, it's not much different than walking. It's great and all, don't get me wrong, having the wind in your hair and seeing everything whoosh around below, but I was able to fly pretty much the moment I broke out of my glass tube at cadmus.

So I guess what I'm saying is that means I don't know what it's like to not be able to and wish you could and suddenly be able to--I bet it'd be even cooler then.

I think sometimes it's something I take for granted, unless I remember to stop and actually look down.

That makes sense. I think everyone probably has something that's completely normal for them but someone else thinks is amazing.

Um. What's cadmus?

[identity profile] so-pregnable.livejournal.com 2009-11-20 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
The Cadmus Project. It's the hush-hush government facility where I was cloned.

[identity profile] riseupnchargem.livejournal.com 2009-11-20 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
They can do that with people where you're from? I mean, my Zoid's a clone, but that's a pretty far cry from a human being.

[identity profile] so-pregnable.livejournal.com 2009-11-20 09:18 am (UTC)(link)
...how do you clone a robot?

[identity profile] riseupnchargem.livejournal.com 2009-11-20 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
Zoids are robots, but they're alive, too, so they've got a kind of genetic material that can be manipulated and, I guess, duplicated. Cloning isn't something that happens a lot in the time I'm from - usually when someone's messing around with a Zoid's genetic material they're adjusting it to accommodate a new body or something - but I can see how it'd be possible.

Weird.

But yeah, humans--and aliens--can be cloned where I'm from.
