I totally didn't get this meme off anontalk what are you talking about
I've been something totally worthwhile today: figuring out what dog breeds my characters are using this site. I took the little quiz thing for what I thought my characters would be like as a dog/want in a dog and then went through the results to see what characteristic matched up.
I've only figured out Samus so far, but I figured she'd be one of these.

Australian Cattle Dog
Temperament
Smart, hardy, independent, stubborn, tenacious, energetic and untiring — these are all traits essential to a driver of headstrong cattle, and all traits of the Australian cattle dog. This dog must have a job to do or it will expend its efforts on unacceptable jobs of its own. Given challenging mental and hard physical exercise daily, it is among the most responsive and obedient of dogs, an exemplary partner in adventure. It tends to nip at the heels of running children.
Upkeep
The Australian cattle dog was bred to be active and tireless. This dog needs a lot of physical and mental activity, more than a simple walk on a leash can provide. A good jog or long workout, coupled with obedience lessons or other intellectual challenges, is essential every day. It is happiest when it has a job to perform.
Oooooor she could be a...

German Shepard Dog
Temperament
Among the most intelligent of breeds, the German shepherd dog is so intent on its mission — whatever that may be — that it is virtually unsurpassed in working versatility. It is utterly devoted and faithful. Aloof and suspicious toward strangers, it is protective of its home and family. It can be domineering. It can be aggressive toward other dogs, but it is usually good with other pets.
Upkeep
This breed needs daily mental and physical challenges. It enjoys a good exercise session as well as learning session.

Rottweiler
Temperament
Confident, bold, alert and imposing, the Rottweiler is a popular choice for its ability to protect. As befitting its self-assured nature, it tends to be headstrong and stubborn and is often domineering. It is reserved, often wary, toward strangers. It may be overly protective if it perceives that its family is being threatened, and it may also attempt to "herd" children. This is a powerful breed that needs socialization, consistent training and daily exercise to be the best it can be — a loyal family member and guardian.
Upkeep
The Rottweiler needs daily physical and mental activity, either in the form of long walks or jogs, or a vigorous game in a safe area, as well as obedience lessons. ... It needs to spend significant time inside with its human family, however, so that proper bonding can occur.

And he was 1% away from a ridgeback, too. Which is awesome, we used to have a part-ridgeback <3
And Zelda iiiis!
Saint Bernard
Temperament
The calm, easygoing Saint Bernard is gentle and patient around children, although it is not particularly playful. It is devoted to its family and is willing to please, although at its own pace. It can be stubborn.
Yeah, that sounds about right XD
