The I'd Hit It Meme

The I'D HIT IT Meme
{borrowed/inspired by: [livejournal.com profile] nottome}

Let's face it. There are some pretty hot people out there. Ever pointed somebody out to your friends and say, I'd hit it?

Well now you have the chance to say it to their faces!
The rules of the game are simple:

1. Comment as your character. (One comment per character.)

2. Comment to others!!! Don't be shy!!!

3. Got a friend who's too shy? Post their character's name for them! They may or may not thank you for it.

4. IT'S FOR FUN, YOU GUYS. FUN!

Having a basic function doesn't mean you have to follow it.

Screw it— Musashi! Talk to this idiot.

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-01-21 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
...what? You're the one who was carrying on about basic functions and how seeking uniqueness was a problem because it interfered with that.

Hey, now! There's no need for rudeness!

Sheesh, we're getting off to a bad start.

I wasn't being rude.

...well. No worse than she was.

Oh, that's just the Major. You get used to it.

Erhmm....hmm... personnel files....Oh! here we go!

You're Brainiac Five, right? I'm supposed to talk to you!

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-01-21 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
What are you supposed to talk to me about?

[identity profile] tachikhromatic.livejournal.com 2010-01-21 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure... I think the basic point of this exercise is to assure you that we're not being oppressed. Of course, on a purely technical basis, we are.

But that's purely political! How do you feel about shared-memory systems? A lot of people have reservations about the safety of that kind of system, but I've never seen the issues involved. After all, it's a lot easier to gain knowledge by direct electronic transfer than by tediously learning it all yourself, isn't it?

[identity profile] brainy-bot.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
....That's not very reassuring

Shared memory systems? It sounds similar to the Coluan Hive Mind, in a way.

In order to maximize the impact of every experience, we Tachikoma have always had our memories synced on a regular basis! Of course, after the first catastrophic dissolution, we were permitted to initiate this on a more elective basis, but it was still the kind of thing that allowed for a lot of overlap.

Also, we threw parties! Sharing a dedicated server sure was a lot of fun. It's a lot more annoying, nowadays. There's only so much allotted bandwidth, you know!

Well, it's not so bad. In a strict sense we've got more freedom now than we ever have! Of course, we're still subject to a lot of restrictions, but that's just the sort of risks you have to take!

[I keep getting distracted by the fact that icon is moving in time to my music.]

...That does sound a lot like the Hive Mind. But with less. Enforced similarities. At least I imagine a measure of individuality isn't looked down upon?

Don't you wish you had the freedom to make your own choices?

[identity profile] tachikhromatic.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[That is, oddly enough, something I hear a lot ^^]

Well, it used to be! We once were all sent back to the lab for analysis! One of us had gone materialistic and begun collecting physical media— paper books! Can you imagine?

They dismantled that one's brain. It seemed happy about it, though. Hey, do you think that one actually experienced death? [wistful sigh]

Of course nowadays it's pretty different! We're under the Major's command exclusively, without oversight. She even lets us have individual names! So exciting!

Well...sure, I guess...But we can't just abandon the Major!
