WAKING UP!

Your character is in a nice, warm bed, wearing their bedclothes (or lack thereof) of choice. It's comfortable, it's fluffy, and it's great...

Unfortunately, someone's in bed with them. They might roll over and accidentally cop a feel before waking up fully, they might notice the heat on their backs, but whatever the case may be, there's someone in there with them. They could easily remember the night before, how that happened, but...

Where's the fun in that?

[Dare we even speculate where Dick picked up is sleeping garment habits from?

Probably not. But let's just say that Bruce isn't the only nude one in the bed and leave it at that. Though Dick's actually ASLEEP. One too many micro-nap and he's just plain out for the count.]

[ He wakes from his powernap, fully ready to go and solve a crime that has been baffling the cops for weeks... at least until he sees someone very familiar lying next to him.

He's pretty damn alarmed, but does well hiding it. ]

Didn't you already grow out of this habit?

[Dick grabs a pillow and pulls it over his head. He mumbles something that might, at a stretch, sound something like, Shut up and go away, Roy, but...well, it's mumbled Dick's really not awake.]

[crusades]

[ Another alarming thought, but he'll happily leave the light on the Roy tidbit well and truly unshedded. ]

Dick, for God's sake wake up.

[goddamnwingman]

[At least he didn't say Lian. Though given how often the little girl is at the Tower, that one might have been far less surprising.]

[It takes a moment, still, but Dick does eventually groan, turning onto his front and pulling the pillow over his head again.] Is the world ending?

[crusades]

[ He sits up and rubs his eyes. Yep, Dick's no mirage. ]

Something like that.

Damn it. [Dick sighs, pulling the pillow away.] I don't suppose this is all some weird, elaborate dream brought on by the Scarecrow's latest chemical weapon?

[crusades]

Either that or Ivy has a greater mastery of pheromone manipulation than previous experience would have us believe.

[ Veeeeeery carefully feeling around the floor beside the bed for some clothing. ]

Personally, I prefer your theory.

Yeah. Dream is good idea. I'm not sure why, but... [Dick pauses, taking the pillow off his head. Which leaves his hair sort of going all over the place.] I'm ignoring why my subconscious would put me in this sort of situation.

[crusades]

You're clearly sublimating.

[ dryly. Bitter consolation for failing to find anything to wear. ]

[Dick blinks at Bruce.] Bruce. In what world would waking up in bed, completely starkers with your mentor and father figure be either socially or culturally acceptable, huh? [Let's not try to figure out what that could be sublimating FOR.]

[crusades]

[ Okay, he's found something stuffed under the bed to wear. There's some juggling of pants and bedsheets and voila! One Bruce Wayne, mostly decent. ]

We're not here of our own volition, Dick. Someone put us here, and I think we'd know if we...

[ Yeah, he's not going there. ]

[goddamnwingman]

[Dick blinks at him a few times, then puts his head back under the pillow. His voice comes out muffled.] You know, I hadn't even thought of that until just now. Thank you, Bruce. I needed that.

[Still, it's only another moment before he's got sheet around his waist and bent over the side of the bed, looking for pants of his own.]

[ Being crimefighting vigilante partners is not so different from being gym buddies, I guess. It shouldn't be that surpising that modesty didn't have much of a place in their totally nonsexual relationship. ]

You know how it goes. What doesn't kill you.

[goddamnwingman]

[Wasn't like they hadn't seen each other in various states of undress over the years as it was. Dick certainly didn't care. He did find a pair of boxer-briefs, at least, pushing back on the bed to pull them on.] You know, I have a feeling this is probably your room. There's a decided lack of stuff in here.

[crusades]

My room has butler service, and he would have been in with breakfast by now.
