Tell Me Why...

Since everything in the world begs questions, and we would all love to have answers to the "Why"s...and we can't always have those answers. However, on the meatship crack-comm, we can. I thought that this meme would be stimulating for the brain and considerability of our persons.

The game is simple:

1. Post a comment of your character accepting/not-accepting-but-making-due-with being part of the meme
2. Other characters comment on the first comment with questions. Anything goes.
3. The character being questioned answers the questions. Truthfully. You're allowed to gracefully skirt around answering a particular part.
4. Enjoy.

Any of the different forms. I.E.:

1. the acceptance of the differing views of other people, e.g. in religious or political matters, and fairness toward the people who hold these different views;

2. the act of putting up with somebody or something irritating or otherwise unpleasant;

3. the ability to put up with harsh or difficult conditions;

4. the loss of or reduction in the usual response to a drug or other agent as a result of use or exposure over a prolonged period;

5. an allowance made for something to deviate in size from a standard, or the limit within which it is allowed to deviate; or

6. the ability of an organism to survive in extreme conditions.

Take your pick.

Well, then, I don't see how it would really interfere with the ability of an organism to survive in extreme conditions.

Heh. Rephrase my original question for you by the terms you have just set.
withanethel: (Genuine)

Don't think I can do that. But, I mean, the question doesn't make any sense no matter which definition you use.

Of course it does. Logic, child. You were doing well up until then.

How about a classic: what is the result of an impact between an unstoppable force and an immovable object?
withanethel: (Eugh what)

Don't call me child.

There's no such thing as either. There isn't a result.

If you can't answer these kinds of questions, then you might as well be.

But see, you're doing better. Now, a regular sprinkler has nozzles arranged at angles on a freely rotating wheel such that when water is pumped out of them, the resulting jets rotate the wheel. If said sprinkler were submerged in a tank of water and made to suck in the surrounding fluid, which way would it turn?
