The TV Tropes meme (again)

That's right, once again: Post your character's tropes! Then other people can reply with suggestions! Or don't even wait for the prompt! Go absolutely sligshit! What do I care! It's not like I have any control over the raging mass of stymied adolescent emotions I c-

Oh man, I went on a wiki walk that took me forever. THANKS.

Language of Magic - The Speech.

Cast From Hit Points - one of the reasons why wizards on Rhiow's world are so intent on conserving their magic.

Functional Magic - Wizards have been compared to the technical support staff of the universe.

Geometric Magic - Rhiow's spellwork can be folded up and stored in a claudication, and excessively complex spells tend to resemble advanced geometric constructs.

In the Name of the Moon - "Eldest, fairest and fallen, greetings and defiance."

Powers That Be - the trope namer.

Rewriting Reality - What wizardry does. In keeping with the metaphor about wizards being the IT staff of the universe, wizardry is often compared to programming.

Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness - Guilty of this when talking about worldgating, hyperstring function, the specific function of her wizardry, and of course when she's using wizardry. The latter is justified because if you're re-programming the universe, you have to be very specific about all the variables involved.

Talking Animal - Has produced some amusing reactions aboard ship.

Intellectual Animal - In conjunction with the first. Rhiow is a worldgate technician, after all.

Team Mom - Finds herself filling this role, much to her ironic dismay, since she actually can't have children.

Reincarnation - Cats have nine lives. Rhiow is on her sixth, after spending her fifth to pay for extra spell-carrying capacity to defeat the Lone Power.

Carnivore Confusion - Subverted in that even if the mice can talk (to the People's knowledge they can't), cats have to eat. Although there is a tradition among cats not to hunt to the last life, because "even the prey have gods."
