In Which Ash Blaze does something stupid.
Alright, time for some fun stuff here. Or not-so-fun stuff.
HEADCANON MEME TIME!
I know we all have our awesome canon bits we all refer back to, but what about stuff canon doesn't touch upon, but we, the player, do? We call that "headcanon". Basically here? If there's something about your character that is either fan accepted or part of how you play a character, list it here!
*made sure to cut off notifs here.*
Have fun with this!

Anyway, copied from my speculation post on Lyle's journal:
After Jacques' non-death, Lyle was made to keep quiet about what really happened or be charged with murder for setting the booby trap. Lyle felt horribly guilty and responsible and did some soul-searching. He had enjoyed a frivolous, risk-taking, fun life. But he decided at this point to use some of the skills and strings he'd gained as a top spy to work on something more important. He set his sights on the Durlan as a misunderstood people and convinced his superiors that it would be a good idea to send him to Durla. Durla was told he was a diplomat-in-training, following in his parents' footsteps, and Earthgov/the UP was told he was spying on the Durlans to see if they were dangerous. Lyle learned a lot and, of course, only told each side what he thought they needed to know.
