And on today's menu for silliness, we have the:

COLORS OF LOVE MEME!

The situation: There is a big, glowy, pulsating heart floating in the middle of a mysterious void where all our characters are gathered. For a moment, it does nothing but sparkle innocently. Innocently, I say.

And then?

BOOM!

Beams of colored light shoot out from the heart, slamming directly into every character and overtaking their bodies with a warm sensation. It only takes a second---once it fades, the characters are unharmed. But they sure do feel differently. How differently? Well, that depends on the color of the beam that hit them. Which color, of course, is up to you.

Characters hit by pink beams will feel an intense admiration and desire to be near the first character they see. They will become worshiping fans, stalkers even.

Blue beams merely bring an inclination toward friendliness. It's an opportunity for characters who would otherwise hate each other to talk civilly.

If hit by a red beam, they will feel a romantic attraction to the first character they see. Intense feelings, desires to make people happy, that sort of thing.

If it's a purple beam, lust ensues. If clothes start coming off, though, please take it to personal journals!

Orange beams trigger impulses toward (mostly) innocent physical affection. Lots of hugs and kisses given out here!

As for usage: feel free to either declare what color your character was hit with right away, or wait to know who you're threading with before you make that choice. You can also choose not to have them affected at all, and point and laugh at everyone else's craziness. And you can combine colors, or switch at any time! That heart's gonna hang around and watch the whole thing. Because it can.

If I've missed any fun amorous effects, feel free to make up a beam of your own and I'll add it. Have fun and go crazy! Tweak the effects if you want---if it's one or both, or toward multiple characters, tweak it as you will but just let the people you're threading with know.

It isn't something I'm familiar with. However I don't sense anything mystical about it, and I don't feel any different. At least, I believe I don't.

If you wish, that might help to decide what the purpose of those lights were. I'll try to limit my magic, in case it might interfere with your sensors.

[Normally he'd be pitching a hissfit over the use of the word 'magic', or at least snarking, by now. But when Yue's talking about it, he doesn't mind so much.]

*Waits patiently while the scan happens, smiling a little. Only slightly red from the attention.* You seem very advanced. *Not sure how to make smalltalk with an android or other mechanical being.*

What exactly are you scanning for?

Oh, I'm trying to see if there are any noticeable effects from the light... Did you know your temperature is slightly raised?

[It occurs to him that he's rather close to her, so he's concentrating EVEN MORE on the omnicom now.]

Y-yes. I'm rather advanced. My species generally is and I've made a lot of personal upgrades as well...

*Now realizes she was blushing, which just makes her blush a little more.*

I did not realize, I don't believe it is an effect from the lights however.

*Notices he's focusing more on the scanning apparatus, maybe he's found something? She moves closer to him to try to look at the Omnicom, putting her hand on his in the process.*

What do you think is causing it then?

Ah! [He jumps a little as her hand touches his and the only reason he isn't also bright red is because he can't blush.]

*She paused a moment, then with as little added awkwardness as possible...* I'm pretty sure that is simply embarrassment, from such attention. A standard human reaction.

Oh s-sorry. I wanted to see if you discovered anything, you seemed to be rather focused on your scanner. *He seems excitable...*

Oh, yes. That makes sense. [Even if he vaguely wishes it was for another reason.]

Ah, well... I was looking at it because. I. Didn't want to overlook anything? [He edges a little closer, under the pretence of letting her look at the scanner more easily.] But I think you're right about it not being linked to the light.

*Stares at the screen, to see if she can spot anything he might have missed. It is a little odd to see yourself in this way, as information on a computer.*

*She absentmindedly takes his hand while they are standing so close together.*

[He honestly doesn't think he's missed anything, but he will stand here for as long as she likes, letting her read the screen and holding her hand.]

I seem to be in good health, other than the temperature... which is entirely natural for this situation.

Maybe the lights were just lights? While such simplicity is hardly commonplace, it is possible.

*She hasn't let go of his hand yet.*

It's equally possible any effects won't show up until later. I should keep an eye on you. Just in case.

[He's going to scratch the back of his head awkwardly.]

Agreed. [She gets a return smile that sort of wavers when she notices their hands.]

It's okay. *Temperature not decreasing from the face. Did he grab her hand, or did she grab his hand... it's nice either way.*

So... where are you from? *He mentioned something about his kind, so he wasn't unique. So this question can't go too horribly, right?*
