SHAMELESSLY STEALING IDEAS FROM HEDGE

Fleischheim. It's a bustling medieval metropolis, possibly a port or trade city of some kind, surrounded by massive walls. In the center is a fortress, the home of the ruling authority of the land. It's an old-tech place, one where people who claim to have magic are believed, for they may or may not be telling the truth, alchemists yearn to transmute lead into gold, and guards in chain mail and knights in plate keep the peace.

Your characters are now in this place, as visitors or citizens. If they're not human, they are now. If they're superhuman, then they're merely the stuff of legends here, be it through skills or amazing physical prowess.

Go.

"Your wife might kill you if you keep injuring yourself right after blowing something up," Yue just looks down at him, grabbing her drink and sipping from it. "I'm pretty certain you've been told not to stand up so quickly after these things."

"We are getting closer though..." not sure what it is we're getting closer to, except making the carpenters rich. At none of my books were in the blast this time. She flipped through one of her journals, "Next time I'm sent off to exchange tomes with fellow scholars I'll see what their alchemists have been working on elsewhere."

"Ah yes! An intriguing variable - this 'not standing up so fast -' I will remain horizontal for the purposes of adequate testing."

When he's less loopy, he will be glad of the same. Allen loves Yue's books, usually so much more relevant than the ones his dear wife brings back from her travels, bless her heart.
