All that had happened in Inara's quarters was some friendly talking over tea, but because of misunderstandings about her profession, everyone assumed something else, and honestly, Kang was getting very tired of the rumors that were spreading around the ship. He had a mate, and even if he were so inclined to cheat on her, he had zero interest in human females.

Unfortunately, as much as he wanted to bash in the heads of those who'd started the damn rumors, he knew the best way to handle it was to ignore the whispers.

He hated rumormongers.

Kang had resigned himself to never being able to leave Harry and Riza's home whenever he, Fonrar and the younglings visited the Dresden family in Chicago. There were only humans there, and more than likely, they'd be captured by the authorities out of fear. So, when Harry had grinned and asked if he'd like to go to a pub, the bozak had jumped at the chance.

The long coat that had been provided didn't quite cover his tail, but that wasn't as important as his wings. A wide-brimmed hat fixed the horn problem, and minimizing how much time was actually spent on the street kept anyone from asking questions about his snout.

Upon entering Mac's pub, Kang quickly decided the cramped ride in the Blue Beetle and the uncomfortable coat that pinched his wings was well worth it. Not only had he finally gotten to meet the infamous Karrin Murphy, but the food and ale proved to be just as good as promised.

"You want me to wear what?!" Kang stared at the scraps of golden cloth, barely managing to hold back a hiss. No way. No way in the Abyss.

"Come on, just for a little humor."

This time, he did hiss, and shook his head. "No. I'm not wearing that damn outfit. It's meant for human and elf females, not anything like me, and it's ridiculous."

"But-"

He grabbed the front of the man's shirt and leaned in close, flaring his wings slightly. "I offered to help with this production of yours, yes, but it won't be in this manner. Now, is there something reasonable that I can do or not?"

The man gulped, staring in fear at the large amount of very sharp teeth in the draconian's mouth. "Yes! Setting up props!"

"That's better," he let the man go with a grin.
