(no subject)

Because I know I'm not the only one whose thought of this.

It's the....

Ten Years Later RP Meme!

To put it simply, how do you think your character will have developed over ten years on the Good Meatship Stacy?

And playing them like it's ten years later.

"I am available for both this day," Arha said, and smiled. "You are well, my Sister?" Arha placed a hand around her cane and moved it to one side, the gesture welcoming. Her blind eyes settled on Katara as if she could see the young woman. While she could not, she knew where she was.

"I'm glad," Katara replied, and ave he teacher an affectionate hug. "And well enough, yes. My pupils are ding well, thanks to your advice. The lessons on prana bindu are going splendidly, and the girls never cease with their questions. Much of it has to do with boys and the like too: it seems we still have to contend with the 'creepy witch women' title. It used to bother me, but I'm accustomed to it now."

She poured them both a cup, and her hand found her teachers'. The unspoken thing, of course, was Katara's quiet anger at Arha's loss of sight: even her healing could do nothing there, and it hurt her. She bared the loss of sight well enough, and it would not do to treat a Jedi master and Reverent Mother as some sort of invalid. She knew better.

She smiled. "Your students are progressing?"

"Thank you," she said and her fingers found the cup easily. "It is good to find your own pupils doing well. I have head good reports. My own do well, though some seem to think that since my eyes do not work in the right sense that they can get away with much. I have put an end to many a tossing game and antics. They forget that I have more than eyes, I think. But, they learn quickly and they are all promising. The questions shall not cease from either side. Of this I am sure."

Katara laughed. "My girls know better than to assume a Reverend Mother would be stopped by something as slight as loss of sight: heck, I learned that lesson years ago with Toph. But I'm happy to note that you're always busy still: these pupils deserve to learn the ways of the Force just as I had the desire to learn the ways of the Bene Gesserit years ago. I think my brother has finally made peace with that."

She took a sip of her tea, then placed the cup down gently. "And how are things with Obi Wan?"

"Your brother has grown in acceptance," Arha said with a nod and a soft smile. "Obi-Wan is well, I believe he has, as always, more things to attend to than I can even know. We train who we can, after all. It is busy work."

Katara returned the smile. "He knows how important it is to be trained in certain disciplines. He had to be once before, when we was just learning how to use a sword. But it took him awhile to get what I was doing. I'm just glad we don't fight about things like that anymore."

Nope, now they just fought about why Katara was still single, and she refused to go with anyone he tried to set her up with on the ship. "It's a shame," she said. "I always thought that you and he would eventually be together. I know it was wishful thinking, but I like the idea of you with someone that will make you happy Sister."

"We are together in many ways, busy as we are," Arha said softly. "He is there for me as I am for him, this is as true as it ever was. Obi-Wan is ever someone I shall care for in the deepest manner. It seems we are constantly reevaluating the meaning of that as the years pass."

"I'm glad to hear that," Katara said, smiling. "I'm still a bit old school when it comes to the feelings of two people. An irony, I guess, since I haven't been with anyone on the ship. But you know, I'm a loyal person...I guess a small part of me is still waiting for him to break out of the pod with that smile of his. Of course, a relationship like that would be pretty criminal!"

She giggled, then looked over at her teacher, putting a hand over hers. "I've never waned in my respect for you, Sister. Thank you for everything. Although I know you would not allow yourself to be held back by your injury, all the same I would wish it hadn't happened. I would have gladly taken the hit for you if I could have."
