Sherry's still your favorite child, though, right, Claire? Who, while she hasn't been around much lately (labs, science, medical tinkering, Vega), has managed to grow into a (mostly) responsible young woman.

Sherry peeks into the room carefully. There is a tiny child about. And those things, she's learned, can wake up to a pin drop. (The 'becoming and older sibling' bit has given her a little more practice.) "Mom?"

Oh like the baby could sleep through his sister screaming because her brother is pulling her hair. Claire switched the shoulder the baby was cradled against and looked up at Sherry's voice, smiling warmly.
