The Trapped in an Elevator Meme




Your character steps into an elevator for... whatever reason, up to and including "meme magic, okay?". Someone steps in with him or her and the door closes. It creaks up a few floors-- and then it stops. The emergency button shocks anyone who touches it.

[He sighs and starts in, gritting his teeth against the pain. It's completely sabotaged---he won't fix it before he loses all strength.]

We're running out of options, and I need to open access to more. It's morphin' time!

[You know what happens next. The morphed human draws his lance and thrusts upward. It and his uniform absorb the shock, but getting the exit free is still incredibly painful.]

Hang on. We're almost out of here.

I don't think that's going to work, but...hmm. The beginnings of an idea to help you are forming, but I don't want to hurt you further if it doesn't work.

::Drunken chirps and swaying crawl-hops. Don't ask. Then an ear-flick::

I may be able to lessen the electricity's effect if I can figure out why it occurred. As I said, electrical charge is caused by an imbalance in atoms' charges. There's an imbalance now with you, and if that was caused by your physical structure, then maybe grounding you to your structure is the answer.

[What does that mean? Out with the emotion. He cups his hands, summons the light of joy, and brings it close to Renne. He's never tried healing other people before, but of all his ideas this one seems to make the most sense.]

::Chirp. Immediately, his nose twitches and his skin gives off a few flares. Drawing closer, he acts without really consciously realising it. Partially-Transcending, the now purring beastie extends both paws toward Billy. The waver in his crouch stills in a matter of minutes::

[Renne's cooperation is very much appreciated, because this is hard work. Billy pours all the energy he has into this, seeking to help his brother stabilize. It's offered freely and easily.]

::Wavering gone, he wraps his arms 'round the Human. Or tries to. Purring like mad, Renne sends back a wave of appreciation::

[A very relieved human plucks his helmet off and leans into the hug.]

It's not so bad if it doesn't touch you---I'm sorry I couldn't protect you from that.

::He sounds just this side of sleepy but determined. Kid without a bedtime, yep, and holding onto Billy like he doesn't wanna let go::

[His arms tighten in thanks for a moment, and then he's carefully shifting Renne onto his back and picking his helmet up.]

We're going to get out of here. Hang on.

[Once he's ready and Renne's safe, he prepares to jump. Small ledges protruding from the wall provide the hold he needs, and then---after a test jump or two, he's hanging onto the edge of the opening.]

Almost there. [Now he's just summoning the strength to pull up---the shocks and healing drained a lot.]

::Drowsy he may be but Renne hangs on. And he sends the Human a little offering, specifically a try to restore what had been lost in the removal of...well...him being electro-drunk::

[Nod] Thanks. All right, hang on!

[It takes some effort, but he manages to pull himself up and onto the roof. He sits on it for a few moments, recovering. At least there's no more electrocution out here.]

::Chirp. Well, not much more he can do except hang on. So he does. When he feels the movement stop, a paw comes up to run his fingers through Billy's hair.::

[I hope you like smiles and hugs, Renne, because you just got both. After that, he looks up.]

The exit to the next floor is close. We only need to climb up a short distance.

[He's noticed that Renne seems tired, so he turns and offers his back for Renne to climb up again.]

::He's stubborn, very stubborn. He offers billy an affectionate nudge, then crawls into a kind of beside/behind position to follow after::

Okay. Just be safe, all right?

[With that, he hooks onto one of the pipes and starts climbing up. He slips and has to struggle a few times, but soon he's there and looking for Renne.]

::He's not far behind. A bit slow, yes, but he soon gets up there. 'Course he can't resist a little head-peek::

Booh.

[Luckily his grip holds, but he does mock-gasp.]

Oh no! You got me. I have to get out of here!

[Grinning, he finds a ledge to carefully balance on as he tries to pull the doors apart. It's hard, and he has to use the Blade Blaster as a wedge, but it's soon open. And they clamber out!]
