Song drabble meme!
It's pretty simple and fun, folks. This is how this works!
( 01 ) Have a playlist ready! Don't use all your songs--try and narrow it down a little.
( 02 ) Let everyone know how many songs you're working with. Also, which characters you would be willing to write about.
( 03 ) Others tag your post, picking a character or pairing or friendship or familial relationship or whatever, and then choose a number from your list.
( 04 ) Write a drabble related to that song, using that/those character(s)!
HERE'S THE CATCH:
You only have the length of the song to write a drabble!
(Or, you could, you know. Just put the song on repeat until you hit a stopping point. Who's gonna know?)

"It's beautiful."
They had found a nice tree to sit under, and had spent a good portion of the afternoon relaxing and watching the storm off in the distance. Occasionally there was lightning, a crack or two of thunder, but none of it touched their sunny little hill.
"Don't hurt you none to relax a bit either, does it?"
She had a point, and she knew it. Billy gave a sheepish laugh, ducking his head momentarily behind his arm. "No, I suppose not. Especially if it's a day such as this."
Kaylee giggled, bumping his shoulder playfully, and pointed back toward the storm.
"Here comes the best part..."
And there it was, the rainbow they'd been waiting for all afternoon, stretching across the sky, brilliant and colorful. Kaylee gave a happy sigh, and offered Billy another handful of sweets as settled back against the tree. "Gotta slow down, y'know, or you'll miss moments like this."
The Ranger took the sweets without moving his sights away from the rainbow, and gave his own sigh of agreement. Maybe lazy afternoons weren't so bad after all.

Kaylee sat at the table in the tavern, head in her hand and a pout on her face. Of course things hadn't worked out with Dean. Had she really been so foolish, thinking that it'd all be fine? Danger, work, whatever the excuse they had come up with--point was, it was over, and Kaylee was back to battery operated boys once again.
The mug slamming onto the table caused her to jolt back to the presence, and she scrunched her face up at Kang's amused smirk before sliding right back into her pouting stance. The Draconian slid into the chair across from her without a word.
"Don't know why I bothered. Ain't like I've had much luck in the past. No breaks for Kaylee Frye, unless they're engine related ones."
Kang snorted, pushing the mug of tea closer to her. "I didn't think there was anyone for me either, until we stumbled upon the females. You never know until you get there."
Another sigh from the mechanic, and she stared down at the tea in the cup. "Here's to hopin' for Fonrar to pop soon, 'n for somebody to come along with her for me."
A hearty laugh escaped the Draconian. "Agreed! Now drink up, before it gets cold."

How she had convinced him to help with repairs he didn't know, but here he was, covered in as much grease as she was and crawling about under instruments like there was no tomorrow.
Attraction. That was the only explanation. He had a sense of attraction toward her, and it made him curious, and he wanted to find ways to get closer. Others needed to be pushed away, she needed to be pulled closer to him, that was the easy part. The hard part came from her work. Her life source, her heart, every inch of her being was dedicated to it.
She would never love anyone like she loved that ship, and everyone knew there was no room for replacement there.
