Tell confessa-a-bear

Here's how we do it.

1. Make a post for each character confessing something. It could be ceiling-cat, inner angst, a secret love, or hey, maybe you just want to list all the things that the character feels are so pent up inside him just bursting to get out. Weight of the world on his shoulders?
2. People reply to those posts with reactions to the confessions. It can be "what were you smoking when you did that" or "uhwhat?" or even "nice job, buddy!"
3. Forced honesty, uh-yep.
4. Bonus! Make as many confessions as you'd like!
5. Profit!

He did.

I didn't believe him, of course, but Morgan has always been a forgiving man. Even when he shouldn't be.

I didn't believe her when she said it, either. Partly because it completely contradicted what she'd said earlier and partly because she'd lied about so many other things I didn't trust much of anything that came out of her mouth.

Well, Morgan, to his credit, isn't a liar. He'd gone through the loss of a loved one around that time, and he was taking it very roughly. I'm not certain what particularly pushed the button, but...I suspect that I had a good hand in it. We're best friends, but that doesn't mean that we can't disagree.

Nor does it mean that I can't be a jackass.

I said some terrible things to one of my teachers about some things that had happened between us. I found out later that she'd tried to kill herself because of it.

I still feel furious at her sometimes and then I feel like a jerk all over again. Only it's a hundred times worse because she probably is dead, now.

I hold out hope that Morgan's asleep in a pod somewhere, myself.

I'll hope your teacher is there, as well. Even normal people can do great things, if given the chance.

She wasn't exactly normal. She had...magic powers, sort of. She just wound up being a teacher in the place we both were at the time since there wasn't a lot of need for superheroes there.

She probably would have been a better choice to fight in this war than me.

I think that about Morgan, too. He's more heroic than I am.

I'm not proud for saying that, but it's the truth.

It's not that I wish she had to be here fighting for her life and going through all this...crap. It's just that she'd actually be useful in a fight.

What kind of things does your friend do?

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
He was the one who taught me Aikido. He's a very talented martial artist and swordsman, as well as being a mage of some skill.

I just feel like I tinker with things and might not be nearly so useful in a fight.

Kind of sucks, doesn't it? Feeling so useless. Like being here is a mistake.

At least there's opportunities to try to make ourselves useful here.

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
It does.

And I certainly do try. At least my knowledge of Science seems to make me somewhat useful.

[identity profile] riseupnchargem.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
It's good that you found something. I think I did, but I still don't know how much use I am.

What kind of science are you involved in?

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 11:26 am (UTC)(link)
Physics, chemistry, and robotics are my specialties, though I have a smattering of knowledge in just about every form. I'm just the best at those three.

I would imagine that there are people here more skilled than I am in, say, performing open-heart surgery.
