The CR (Character Relationships) Meme

It's been a while since we've really done a meme with a purpose, and longer since we've done a CR meme - and now that we have a bunch of fresh new characters, time to find out what everyone thinks of you!

There's nothing fancy here - no fancy HTML - just pure bare-bones simplicity:

-Post with the characters you play
-Other people will tag you wanting to know your thoughts (What does Nanoha think of [Character]?)
-You answer!
-Potential/existing CR develops.
-???
-Profit!

So go, go, go for it!

The Doctor and Billy?

Hey look I'm signed into the right account now~

The Doctor thinks--knows--that Billy is an intelligent and reliable friend. As one of the heads of Engineering (and the one he's communicated the most with), Billy also has his respect for experience and consistency, and his unspoken appreciation for keeping tabs on Jamie and teaching him the things he didn't have time for when they used to travel together. Of course, as an important and trusted individual, Five worries that Billy works too hard, so he may periodically step in to see what he can do to lessen the load, as it were.

Oddly enough, Five doesn't see Billy as a companion, as he is inclined to do with other close acquaintances. Instead he considers him a coworker--which, when compared to the Doctor's own expertise, is quite the compliment on Billy's abilities.

Dustin likes Kira--well, as much as Dustin is wont to like people. It's more of a mutual appreciation for a fellow hacker that otherwise appreciates him back. Of course this also makes Dustin a bit weary of Kira, since he's one of the few crewmembers that may have a chance of breaking past any encryptions or defensive programs he sets up, so it'll take more effort before Dustin opens up any more than just talk about electrical upgrades and the like.

As for Nanoha, Dustin has a lot more trust in her, which he obviously doesn't show in any outward, normal displays of affection, but he would follow orders and fight by her side if it came down to it. This has nothing to do with their encounters, interestingly enough; rather, he's seen Nanoha with Fate and Vivio, and he knows--suspects, at any rate--just how fiercely she would fight to keep them safe. This is a bond that Dustin can respect and trust with continuing stability; so long as those two are around, she'll keep in line. Take from that what you will.

The Doctor really appreciates having Nura around. She's compassionate, intelligent, and knows her way around a good novel--not to mention they share a lot in common with their respective civilizations, their views upon said civilizations, and they both share the burden of knowing the future (to differing degrees, of course). It's common for people to bring their troubles to the Doctor, but it's extremely rare for the Doctor to find someone that he can bring his troubles to, and for that he's grateful to have that sort of support.

He'll be keeping an eye out for Nura now that all that Void research is over with, I expect.

Dustin thinks just about as highly of Satori as he does with any other Telepath--that being, not very highly. They get inside your brain and screw around with memories and all sorts of other, paranoia-inducing craziness that Dustin really, really dislikes and, to a certain degree, fears. The only reason he bothers to keep tabs on Satori is because he understands that she fears him back, and thus can be used to watch over the other Telepaths that are no doubt doing all sorts of mischevious, evil deeds behind the scenes, because they're Telepaths, and Telepaths do those sorts of things.

Yeah, Dustin doesn't have a very good history with mind-readers. Nothing personal, Satori.

Dustin on Jamie. (And Five too, if you feel like it. :) )

[identity profile] quark-assassin.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Dustin doesn't think too highly of Jamie, but then again he doesn't think very highly of most people, so that's nothing new. He does admire Jamie's willingness to learn to a very, very small degree that he'll most likely never express publicly, but for the most part Dustin finds his bumbling attempts at mechanical work tiresome and a nuisance to the flow of more important tasks. In other words, Jamie is to Dustin just another civilian that will eventually require his skills at some point or another.

The Doctor, on the other hand, is still extremely glad that Jamie's around and is even more glad that he's just about the same as when he left him. The nigh overwhelming protectiveness he feels for his old companion is either regret for losing track of Jamie all those years ago or is simply residual protectiveness from their previous travels (I haven't seen enough Two/Jamie serials to know their dynamics for certain, probably why my characterization of their day-to-day interaction is so horrible sob); either way, Five's just relieved that Jamie's been able to take care of himself for this long without one of his incarnations having to look after him.
