The CR (Character Relationships) Meme

It's been a while since we've really done a meme with a purpose, and longer since we've done a CR meme - and now that we have a bunch of fresh new characters, time to find out what everyone thinks of you!

There's nothing fancy here - no fancy HTML - just pure bare-bones simplicity:

Stephen on Nehaalista

Oh, conflicting emotions! And...Stephen is not very good at realizing, or dealing with, his emotions.

He DOES realize that he genuinely likes Nehaa as a person, that he doesn't see her as "some alien", or worse. That's probably the main reason he tries to sign to her instead of just talking. He COULD, but part of him sees that as a little insulting. The other part, truthfully, is that sometimes, Stephen just likes proving the fact that yes, he is a smart dude. He also realizes that yes, being more an actual fighter (and a frontline fighter) than he is, Nehaa can get hurt and/or maybe die in the line of duty. No. He doesn't like that.

I don't think he's aware that Nehaalista has prejudices against humans. That or she doesn't show them as much with him, just because he can be so frickin' earnest.

What Stephen does not realize and/or has not admitted to himself (usually, it takes another person to slap some sense into the Etherite: in his canon, that's his best friend, Morgan Knight), is that he's got a serious crush on Nehaa. Maybe she realizes this better than he does? I don't know.
