We've got some new meat this podpop, so let's roll on with the IC truth meme!

Premise: There's something happening to you...you feel strange...like you wore the wrong socks, or you accidentally ate that week old egg salad sanwich in the back of the fridge. Whatever you feel, it makes you suddenly want to be...truthful. More than that: you feel like there's something inside of you just bursting to get out!

It's!

...the truth.

Rules:
1. ICly reply to this post with your characters blurting something truthful out. It can be a deep dark secret they've been harboring, or that crush they have on that one crew member, or anything else. As long as it's the truth, it can be said.
2. Make as many truths as you want. Or..just make one really long list of truths. Whatever makes you feel comfortable.
3. Reply to other people's truths with your characters' reactions. Anything goes. ~~pie throwing?~~

Frustrated. This ship is boring and I can't train my apprentice while I'm stuck in the damn City. There aren't even any ravening anger-virus zombies trying to break into my plaza!

Trust me, when its boring, take advantage of that. It doesn't last long.

You have an apprentice? What do they do?

You missed the zombies a few months ago. They were real zombies though.

I hate boring! I'm the most badass freakin' Overlord in the cosmos! I don't just sit around on my ass! I haven't had any good action around here since Nanashi and I had that big fight. Now THAT was fun! Zombies... even real ones, would have a hard time competing with that.

As for my apprentice? She trains under me. Given enough time... I could make a pretty hardcore Overlord out of her.

Oh, so you know Nanashi? She's a friend of mine, and someone who's training me in sword fighting! But I'm kinda curious: what exactly does an overlord do? I'm not familiar with that title.

Oh. She sounds...interesting. Who is she?

...Friend? Oh wait. That makes sense, never mind. Nanashi's fun. One of the few people on this ship who can play in my league.

Hyaaa ha ha ha ha ha! I like that! You'll have to go up against my apprentice someday. Maybe you know her. Ruffnut. She's a Viking. Human, but the soul of a demon.

As for an Overlord... that's the title of the ruler of a Netherworld. Almost always a demon, though there are a couple that haven't been. Only the strongest and most powerful demons can become Overlords.

She is pretty amazing, although there's a lot I still have to understand about her. She and I see things very differently.

Yes. My brother knows how too, so I've watched and learned from him, but I figured he might be busy, so I'm training with Nanashi. She's pretty strict.

Ruffnut?! Yeah, I know her, she's great company! Definitely overzealous, but great company, and she sure knows how to have a good time!

Nanashi reminds me of some Overlords I've known... not in a bad way, though.

Heh... Ruffnut's idea of a good time is beating the crap out of stuff in the sensorium. Talk about a perfect apprentice!

Hyaaa ha ha ha ha ha!! ...actually, if I had my body, I'd be enjoying this whole Ohm thing. It's a nice change of pace. But then I'd never have ended up here in the first place...

I think I could see that. She definitely carried herself that way. I feel like there's a lot that she's thinking about underneath all of that though.

That sounds about right, though going around beating up everything isn't my idea of a good time. I only fight when there's no choice.

And sometimes when someone makes me mad, but I do less of that nowadays, really!

What happened to your body? You weren't always a book?

O-of course not! What kind of badass freakin' Overlord would be a book?! The Ohm tampered with the Sacred Tome, which contained everything about my Netherworld. When it got set on fire, I had to bind my soul to the damn book!

The...badass Overlord of book world? I don't really know.

I'm sorry to hear that. Is there anyway to get your body back?

I-- there's no such Netherworld. Netherworlds are usually inhabited by demons and monsters. But it is possible to turn a human world into a Netherworld.

As for my body? The Sacred Tome grants wishes, if the person who writes the wish has enough mana to power it. If we defeat the Ohm, then whoever gets the mana from that victory will be able to wish everything back to the way it was before they attacked. That means my Netherworld will come back, and so will my body.

I'm kinda wondering how you'd turn a human world into a netherworld, but I have a feeling I might not like the answer.

How do you gain mana...and what is mana anyhow?

Conquer it and use your mana power to convert it.

Man, everyone asks about mana power. I don't know how people don't know it. Simplest answer? Think of it as strength. Not like muscle strength, but sheer power. You have a lot more than the average human. Nanashi has more than most Overlords. You gain mana... well, some of it is inherent, some of it is training, and some of it is just defeating people. Anything that makes you stronger.

Of course they do. We call it completely different things, people are bound to get confused. Like, I would call what gives me strength is training, fighting for others and forging relationships. You would call it yours in a different way, and so would Nanashi. Kinda similar, but really not.

However you want to describe it, though, defeating the Ohm will be worth a lot of mana. Probably not as much as I have. But enough to wish everything back and get the good ending.

I hope you're right. But if we do that, its going to take a lot of planning and patience, and there will probably be more than a few deaths.

We've been lucky so far, I don't care what anyone says. We should be more worried.

Hmph. Worried? I don't have anything to worry about. Neither do you.

No, wait, I take that back. You're the sort to worry about other people. Well, THAT I can't help.

I do worry about them. Even if I was strong enough to fight the Ohm and get away I would never do it without making sure the others were safe.

I'm fine with that. It's not something I want cured.
