Secret Santa Meme!
Holy crap, Karl thought of a meme!
Anyway, here goes:
1) Post your character to the meme
2) Anon-tag other characters' posts with what your character would get them as a present for Secret Santa
3) When someone tags your character's post with a present, tag back with your character trying to guess who it was who got it for them
4) ???
5)Profit! Have fun!

(Anonymous) 2010-12-19 04:58 am (UTC)(link)The first and foremost among them is a brand new axe. This person worked with the Engineering people and there's some kind of monofilament edge on it that they weren't capable of making, so it can cut through anything.
The thing has been very obviously forged just for her by someone that may have discreetly measured her height, the length of her arms, and had a good idea of her weight and how much she could lift. You can tell because it's perfectly balanced and swings like a dream. Someone clearly spent days and days and days slaving away in a hot forge making this just for her, knowing the best gift they could ever give her would be something that let her show off her strength and smite her enemies most mightily.
The designs on it are familiar patterns and symbols from her home, etched in with the greatest of care, and are absolutely beautiful. You can tell that this person's work isn't always this good and that they slaved away over it just to, for once, make their handiwork as perfect as they could.
The other present is, of all things, a bouquet of flowers, tied together with a simple blue ribbon. Who knows where they were gotten from--maybe some stall off-world on shore leave somewhere? Wildflowers, to be exact, not so different from the ones that briefly bloomed in the short springs in Berk in the countryside. There are quite a few wild Daisies in there, like the ones someone used to weave into crowns for her hair when she pretended to be a warrior-princess.
Whoever sent this knows she's strong, but also is apparently unafraid to get something for her that appeals to her soft, squishy side. Pretty flowers for a pretty girl? =D?
Re: Astrid
...Do I even have to guess?

[His face is a little pink.]
...Do you like it?

[dazed, after the kiss]
Sooo, I'll take that as a yes?
Then again, I'm not really sure what that answer was, so maybe you should try communicating it again. Possibly a couple times.
