Really? I was considering seeing if we could just avoid the gag reflex and put it in IV form... Or perhaps just add salt...

Aye, I suppose the salt might help. [Although he's pretty sure no matter how much they put on the stuff, it'll still taste nothing at all like a bit of oats. Still, it might do something.]

There's not any to be found, though. Unless someone's brought some back from a mission and has it with their things.

I imagine there's a whole room full of it, on the TARDIS. If we could find it, at least.

I mean, there's a swimming pool, why not a room full of salt?

[He's pretty sure there's no saving this stuff. No matter what they find to sprinkle on it.] Do you think the Doctor would know?

Och, ye know him. He'll likely not give ye a straight answer on it if ye ask. I don't think he knows half of what's in the TARDIS anymore. If he ever did.

But ye might be right, at that. We could always go look. If we're lucky, we might find the food machine instead.

Oh that'd be handy. It was 'round the second loop, last I checked. But now there isn't a second loop, just a very narrow staircase that ends at nothing. Bit odd, for the TARDIS to go and rearrange herself like that.

Does the Doctor ever give a straight answer? I don't think they're really his thing. And if he doesn't know, doubly not his thing, as he wouldn't want to admit he doesn't know.

Well, I'd not gotten that far. I imagine the Doctor did, since there was a wee bit of a gap between when we first found her and the...er, well, never mind about that. Let's go look for the salt.

When did she start doing this? It seems like...I don't know, it sounds weird, but it seems out of character for her. If a ship can have a character.

When you first found her and? Yeah, better that trying to force this down unaltered...[Giving the slop one last poke as he gets to his feet.]

Only the once that I know of on Stacy. The Doctor must have changed things at some other point, though, after I traveled with him before. It was a wee bit less orange back then.

[Jamie starts to walk towards the exit, but glances back at Rory as he presses for more information - a rather inscrutable expression, all things considered.] Look, what have they told ye about things that have happened here?

Less orange? the TARDIS with a more muted color scheme? What was he like, back then?

[A pause as he watches his fellow companion.] Less than nothing about what's happened to him. Other people, he'll talk scads about other people, but never him. I know less than Amy does, and that's not much.

Shorter. And the TARDIS was white. [Because that's not going to cause any confusion, nope.]

No, he wouldn't, would he? Have any of the crew told ye at all about things that have happened to us, though? Not just the Doctor, but the rest of us.

...Shorter? [Wait what?!] I thought it always showed up as a blue police box...

He never does. [soft sigh.] Not really, no. Well. I know the TARDIS was attacked, because she's still got a few battle scars, and I know whatever it was shook him a bit. But he seems mostly normal, right? And we've been trying to get things resettled for us, haven't had much chance to look around or ask questions.

[Oh, the Doctor hadn't mentioned that, then. Figures.] It's a wee bit complicated, but it's something his people can do. You're right about the TARDIS, though. It still looked like a police box, even back then. I meant on the inside.

[After Rory speaks again, Jamie lapses into an almost uncomfortable silence, then finally nods.] Aye. There was an attack. He...wasn't able to fight it off.

[The Doctor has told him shockingly little about, well, anything. It's his job to discover it.] It's strange to think of him having a people, you know? He's just...well, he's him. There being more than one of him is just...queer.

[Another quiet pause as they walk in almost companionable silence as Rory digests the words.] What happened, if you don't mind me asking? Won't make you give up his secrets or anything like that.

[Jamie might have to let him know about that in a little more detail at some point, but for now focuses on other things.]

There was this thing called the Darksoul. It...I guess you could say it was a lot like an evil spirit. It got free, somehow, and started to take over some of the crew.

The fight in the TARDIS was because of that.
