"'Have been'," she repeats. "I was gone for five-ish, seven-ish years." It's difficult to adjust to having a teenager/adult as a child when the last time you spoke to them was when they were nine. But she smiles. "But I'm sure my superior wit and mettle can handle it."

She nods back. "Just don't get too depressed about it on your own time. You know, I have some experience with the whole identity thing. You can always come talk to me."

I've never lived on a sentient ship before, and I haven't seen many movies. However, the way the ship handles its passengers, it's quite clear that our interests take a back seat to its mission.

[Okay, fighting with a doll, that was a new one]

[Well, it was always possible it was some sort of magical doll. Although what this man was doing with a magical sombrero doll was anyone's guess.]

[He shrugged, still one arm slung over Zouichi's shoulder in a one-armed hug.]

You could say that. [He looked up in thought, it didn't really matter here did it? He wasn't part of the dominion.]

I'm more of a black ops agent. Been one for as long as I can remember.

"It's a turn of phrase. It means you don't wimp out and you take it, that's all."

Another turn of phrase. "He was looking for a friend of mine and was getting grabby. Told him where he could stick it, and he proceeded to, uh, voice his displeasure. On my body."

"Look, you've been through your own trials, ship or no ship," she said, lightly petting Ronnae's hair. She still rerally liked all that RED. "And they all have a way of shaping you someway. Even losing some of the people and teachers here that I have, it made me stronger. In the end, that's what they would really want, you know?"

[Looks at Splicer sharply, reevaluating him.]

I think we should stop hugging now.

"I'm speaking from what I've seen of you on the ship," Kaya said, looking brazenly defiant. "As far as I'm concerned, you are definitely a mother figure. I don't care how long you were gone, and I doubt its different for Marco. As mother is a mother, you don't lose that just because you weren't yourself for awhile. It's something you can't really forget."

She nodded. "I'll do that. It'll be tough at first, but I know I'll get through it somehow."

[He frowns.]

Was he a crew member?

[He looks at him with a mischievous grin.]

But we were jus' becomin' such good friends!

[He pats Zouichi on the shoulder before backing off, taking a cigarette from his pack and placing it at his ear for later.]

"Hey hey no smokin' aloud you jerk! You know yer gonna give me cancer!"

[He rolls his eyes.] I'll jus' stuff you in the bag and problem solved Miggy, stop bein' such a drama queen.

"Y-yeah I guess.... I jus' feel.... I don't know... sometimes it feels like i don't have the right to relate... Everyone's been through so much here.... I... nevermind" She looked away embarrassed before snuggling against Katara.

"He couldn't be. If he were Stacy would have stopped him from even touching me. Whatever he was, he was likely something that was lying dormant until he was woken up. And whatever he is, I couldn't even touch him. I don't know WHAT he is."

[Yeah, everything about this guy is screaming DO NOT WANT right now]

We'll see how friendly you are when you come out of that pod.

[What was the point of living on a super-powerful ship that prevents crewmates from fighting if it doesn't prevent non-crewmates from beating the tar out of people?]

[That certainly brought out a chuckle out of him. His expression remained calm as he shrugged, putting the cig in his mouth and making a flame snap to life on his hand, using it to light up.]

You can try to see me. [He mused, taking a soft drag and letting the smoke out in a small tornado-like effect, making it dance around in front of his face before dissipating.]

"Hahahaha already makin' friends huh! Told ya to stick to drunks and hookers man. They're friendlier than any fringe world hicks... Or wherever the fuck you got us into."

Miggy... I don't think we're in Kansas anymore. [He grinned remembering that old world movie, this was sorta like that Oz shit wasn't it. Wonder if the ship's the wizard.]

"Nightmare King dude," Hit girl reminded him. "This is not the first time a dangrous thing has come from inside the ship. This is why I trust no one."

[So this guy had psychic powers, huh? Reminded him of some people he knew.

[He didn't bother listening to the rest of the guy's weird doll talk. Places to go, ~~people to hug!~~]

[With that he turns and walks in the opposite direction, taking another drag of his cig, consuming it completely and making the rest dissipate. This was one hell of a place to get stranded in, that's for sure.]

"I'm not saying I'm not a mother, just that it's - there's been a learning curve, coming back, is all. But thank you." She gives Kaya another little squeeze.

"Good girl. That stubbornness suits you." And Eva would know, being the stubborn sort herself.

"Well hello there, little feline." Eva likes cats way more than dogs.
