Some evil entity from the inside of the ship that made everyone have nightmares that came true. It was pretty fucked up from what I hear. I'm glad I missed that.

"Look, you should stop that," Kaya scolded. "Back in my world, I was told I had to do things a certain way too, that I was only meant for one thing and nothing else. If I believed that, I would have stayed one way, and never did anything like start the Outsiders or train to get stronger. I'd still be in a room, shunning everything and wanting my world back."

She gently stroked the girl's hair, starting to braid it. "And you made that choice, to be a part of the ship and be in the department you're in. THEN, despite all the things in your life that hurt you, you found Billy, and fell in love with him. Believe me, you have every right to relate."

"Well yes, that will happen," she said. "I knew a girl who's dad left her and her brother to fight in a war, and when he came back, she was mad at him at first. But the truth was she wanted her dad, just like any other kid who loses their parents for one reason or another. They never know it sometimes, so they look for it in other ways, but that's what they wish for."

She laughed at the squeeze. "Well, that's actually a quality Katara and I both share!"

Apparently. So who was this latest evil entity, and what did he want?

She listened, obediently. She wasn't much for opposing anything anyone said when like this. But she smiled appreciatively nonetheless. "Th-thanks Katara... I... i'm sorry I'm the way I am..." She sighed and relaxed again, letting her friend braid her hair.

I dunno his name. He just launched himself at me, looking for "the power." I thought he was on drugs at first. Then he talked about the "power of Jurai," who I figured was Sasami, so I clammed up. He kinda tried to kill me.

"Don't apologize so much," she said, smiling at her friend. "Just relax, and let's enjoy each other's company. I may not be in the pods long, but at least I can be with one of my closest friends again!"

And she hugged Ronnae tight.

Ronnie blushed timidly back and nodded. "Y-yeah you're right. Live in th-the now right?" She smiled and cuddled up to her friend affectionately.

[A sudden breeze ruffles her clothes, and someone alights next to her, and slender, arrow-tattooed arms wrap around the waterbender's waist.]

[Without warning she leans in, slow enough that Jamie can give her his cheek if he wants to, and kisses him gently but deliberately.]
