She couldn't believe they had even remembered she'd been here that long, but here it was, her sixteenth birthday, and they were all here: Eva, Starfire, Jamie, Billy, Ronnae, so many she couldn't even count them all. Even all of the GAang had come. She wiped the happy tears from her face and cleared her throat.

"Guys," she said, "It's been a pretty crazy year for me. I know you knew me as Katara once, an now that's changed, but here you all still are, standing by me again. I want you to know that I'll do everything in my power to make sure I help the ship. Nothing, for me, has changed except my name and what my past is. My future, my present, is with all of you, and I'm really happy to be here."

She grinned. "Now let's get to that cake!"
