Re: Katara/Kaya
"Are you..."
"Yes, I'm you, but just a year later. I had a mission from Stacy, and it just so happens we're both here, on this very spot at this time. I should go."
And she turned, but felt a hand go to her arm.
"Wait! There's something I need to know! It's.." Katara looked down, "Been such a long time since I saw Aang. I know I'm not supposed to ask, but if you could just tell me..."
Kaya sighed. She definitely could not answer this question: she knew what would unfold, and knew better still that Aang needed to be with Katara, not her. Even now, that pain hit her, and she could see that past self of hers, pining away for him.
"Keep the faith," she said, and seeing the bitterness on her past self's face, she shook her head. "What will happen will happen for a reason, and because of that I can't tell you anything. What I'll tell you is that in my time, you'll have Bonds you never expected, and you'll learn more about yourself then you expected. You don't want me to spoil that, trust me."
Katara looked sad. "And Aang?"
Kaya maintained a straight face. "Aang will always be here, you know that. More than that, its you that you have to look after. Remember that."
And Kaya did leave, but not fast enough that her younger self noticed that tear in her eye.
