Okay, rocks fell, everyone died. Too bad, valiant meatshippers! But the good news is that you've all be reincarnated!

...as baseline humans on modern Earth.

Maybe instead of strangers from universes far apart, you and your close CR are now childhood friends who have always been together. Maybe you meet a former enemy as a friend, or a former friend is now a bitter enemy.

She probably didn't see that Asian kid with approximately 100 sheets of drawings in his portfolio until he accidentally bumped her table.

"Oh, uh, sorry." Zouichi pushed his glasses back up his nose, feeling a little self-conscious. "Wasn't watching where I was going, I guess."

The bump on the table made her jump a bit from her focus and let out a small little yelp of surprise, her cheeks blushing at her own sound. When she looked up, she tilted her head curiously.

"Z?" her voice the usual sweet tone she always had. "I didn't know you studied in the same school? Or... maybe you're jus' passin' through the cafe?"

She remembered faintly having played with the guy standing in front of her all through elementary school. Sure when they went their separate ways they lost a lot of contact, but she tried to always keep tabs on her friends.

"Ronnie?" He should have recognized her even if it had been kind of a long while; he didn't know that many people with red hair like hers.

"Hey, I didn't know you were here, either. You a freshman? Wow, it's been a while."

She smiled, twirling her hair absentmindedly as a small blush crept on her cheeks.

"Y-yeah, just got accepted this semester."

A small giggle escaped her lips as she nodded, "It has been a while hasn't it? It's r-really nice to see you again."

He smiled. "Hey, congratulations! I'm a sophomore, decided to major in art. Uh, guess I'm still getting used to this place, though. It's way bigger than high school.

"So did anyone get in with you?"

"Art? That's great! I bet you're incredibly talented. I'm enrolled in Engineering, but I'm taking some art courses as extras."

She then tilted her head and blushed, "G-get in with me?"

"Huh? Well, um, there are people that are way better than me." He looked a little embarrassed. "Anyway, there are some really nice professors in the art department. If you need any help getting supplies, let me know. So what kind of engineering do you want to get into?"

"Yeah, you know, get accepted along with you. From like your high school or something." The possible other implication of his question goes riiiight over his head.

"Oh..." her blush is still there, but she seems a bit more relieved. "Oh, I'm going for Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.... B-but I didn't really know many people that were staying nearby... they all went to fancier schools in other countries and stuff...."

She fidgeted slightly but smiled back up at him, "T-thanks~ That'd be great, I'll keep that in mind. Anything to lighten my stress trying to cover everything I need."

"In other countries?" He raised an eyebrow. "Wow. I knew a couple other people here from before, but no one's really in the same major as me. I heard the Engineering department here was really strong, though."

He smiled back. "Hey, don't be so stressed. I'm sure you'll do great. I mean, you always used to build things when we were little. And I'm sure you'll meet tons of people who like the same thing."

"It was really hard to get accepted... Financial gave me so much trouble, but they eventually allowed me to."

She smiled shyly and nodded, "Hopefully. It'd be nice I think."

"Seriously? Man, I don't know what they were thinking... oh." He scribbles an email address down on a piece of paper, handing it to her.

"I have to get to class, but email me sometime, okay? We can catch up on all the stuff that happened."

With a smile and a wave, he rushes off. He only bumps into one other person on the way out.

"Oh umm o-okay! N-nice seeing you again Z!" she called after him, looking down at the piece of paper and smiling.

Maybe this school wouldn't be so bad after all...
