Second Chance Meme!
Okay, rocks fell, everyone died. Too bad, valiant meatshippers! But the good news is that you've all be reincarnated!
...as baseline humans on modern Earth.
Maybe you're waiting at a coffee shop, and you spot someone out of the corner of your eye that looks strangely familiar. Maybe instead of strangers from universes far apart, you and your close CR are now childhood friends who have always been together. Maybe you meet a former enemy as a friend, or a former friend is now a bitter enemy.
Are you a college student? A high-powered lawyer? A kindhearted schoolteacher?
What would your life have been like had you been born under different circumstances, and you met your fellow crew once again? If you had a second chance? Would you still fall into the same habits, be a victim of the same misfortunes? or would you use the opportunity to be someone completely different?
1. Post with your character, or tag someone else.
2. Set up the scenario you want to explore!
3. ???

Enough disinfectant and bandages were passed over to take care of all her wounds. He still studied her curiously, wondering what she could have been up to.
"If you're not into track team, then, what are you studying for?"
no subject
"I'm an Engineering major over at the nearby college."

"I really do love it, I did everything I could to get in, so I'm really happy, I've loved building stuff ever since I was a kid, kind of a Lego, Technic, and Mindstorms kind of gal... I was that oddball not playing with dolls I guess." She said with a cheery laugh.
no subject
"We could've built so many things as children," Will grinned. "I was similar. My parents had to hide every tool in the house if they didn't want me constructing something. It's been great to learn more, and to help others in the shop."

He nodded. "I graduated from high school early, and I've been doing the same. I've always wanted to be more useful. But...hey, would you want to study together sometime? Help each other toward the degree?"
Will has no clue why he's letting her in so easily. It's happening before he can stop himself.

She had promised herself that she'd live out her life better now that she wasn't at home... Maybe this was a chance to do so?
A blush rose on her cheeks as she looked down for a moment before nodding, "I... I'd r-really like that. It would certainly help, after all two heads are better than one right?"
no subject
"Then we'll give it a try. They're just textbooks and practical tests, we won't be slaying any terrifying monsters."
He folded his hands over his lap, thinking back on what had to be done for the day. "Anyway, where were you going when they started following you? We can find a way to get there if you'd like."
no subject
"If... if you d-don't mind... I'd r-really like the escort."
no subject
"All right, we'll go at your pace. It's okay if you need to stop for anything or change directions."
no subject
With that, they soon were on their way to her room. It felt odd... walking with someone, she had always been sort of a loner, generally too afraid to make friends. The ones she did have, she cherished greatly however.
They finally made it to a single room apartment in the campus area. She stood in front of the door, and soon enough opened it, the set of keys dangling of a keychain that had more cutesy keychains than keys.
"You... y-you can step in if you'd like. Maybe you'd like something to drink?"
no subject
He hesitated at the doorway, looking faintly worried. "Are you sure you want me to, after what happened today? I wouldn't want you to feel unsafe."
no subject
Taking a quick breath she smiled, "So yes, I'd like to. After what you did it's the least I could do. Besides, might as well get used to my study partner right?" She laughed a bit.
no subject
That made sense to him. Will entered and closed the door behind him, finally able to relax. It was nice here...comfortable, even.
"Does anyone else live here?"
no subject
Making her way into the fancy kitchen, she looked through the refrigerator real quick. "I really don't understand why they did it... We can hardly afford the college and they decided I must have a room like this..." She sighed as the sounds of things being shifted are heard.
"Cola, water, milk, root beer, strawberry juice, and oj...." She paused for a moment frowning. "There's also a six pack of beer from some jerk I met during orientation... I was going to toss it away but I figure I might as well give it to the neighbors or whatever."
no subject
"Root beer's fine. I definitely don't need to drink anything hard right now. And...well, do you wish you were allowed to have a roommate?"
no subject
She poured some ice into a chilled glass and filled it considerably with root beer before stopping. "Want a float?" She asked as she left it open for him to answer so there'd be space for the ice cream if he said yes as she began to work on her own drink. Pouring ice into the blender and the strawberry juice with some fresh strawberry she picked from a basket.
no subject
How did he guess she would choose the strawberry juice?
"It's been a long time since I've had one," Will answered, smiling faintly. "Sure!"
no subject
"T-thanks... I'm n-not that great but I do work really hard~"
She took some ice cream from her freezer and lopped a nice big scoop, placing it on his drink and smiling. It looked so good~! She'd make herself one later.
Once the blender stopped, she poured herself her strawberry smoothie and grabbed both drinks, heading to the living room with a smile.
"Take a seat, they're really comfy~ I guess I can't really complain about the furniture... this place was definitely made for someone with money." Much unlike her.
She shrugged and sat on the long, comfy couch and relaxed, placing a straw on her and his drink and laying a spoon on a clean plate that sat on the small table in front of the couch.
"Hope you enjoy it~" She mused happily as she took a sip of her drink.

Will wasn't quite used to material comforts either. He rushed to help her with the glasses, of course, but looked a little awkward in the large plush seating. It was nothing like the workbench he called home.
One sip confirmed: "I do, it's great. Thanks again, Ronnae."
He thought to himself as they enjoyed their drinks. All this comfort...didn't seem like the environment she would feel best in.
"Then I suppose I shouldn't show you my place. It's essentially nothing more than a glorified workshop, parts everywhere."
no subject
A small giggle escaped her lips before she took another sip. "It'd be pretty cool if I could set up a small workshop here. But it's against the rules and such."
no subject
Will wrinkled his nose. That sounded like a place he never wanted to live in. Who needed all that when you could have grease?
"I love it too. You can visit the workshop whenever you want, actually---there's always room for more, and you probably have ideas I'd never think of."
He sipped his float happily, confident that this was true.

Will finally seemed relaxed. He looked around the area curiously, searching for more clues about his new study partner.
"What kinds of projects are your favorites, then? Do you have anything you've always wanted to work on?"
