I LOVE the greenhouse! I want to get a position there later on. Right now, knock on wood, my finances are covered, but once my brother gets into school, that might change, y'know?

I've heard good things about the engineering department here, do you like it?

I like to think I am, but it's up to the school, I guess. I could always be a tour guide or something too. I'll have to see what happens, and what Zack decides to do, if that boy can ever make his mind up.

So what kind of things are you building? Or nothing yet, you just do it in your spare time right now?

I have my own inventions, like solar powered storage. I almost had it patented until they increased the fee for it... So I'm just waiting to gather some money to be able to before someone gets ahead of me. Other minor stuff but that's the closest I've gotten to a finished invention.

Solar powered storage? Can you explain to me how that works? That sounds like somethin'! [By now Allie's eyes were wide. She probably won't understand the engineering terms--but she'll try.]

Well it isolates the energy gathered by solar panels into an effective storage case that doesn't let the energy get depleted until you release it. Most forms of solar energy storage have leaks, unable to contain that type of energy. I found how to in small quantities, like batteries of sorts.

[She then sighed and slumped her shoulders slightly.] I need five thousand for it... I'm sure I'll make it tho.

Oh, nice! But oh man...five thousand? Do you have anything saved up? That's like...not going to college and stuff?

[She nodded.] I've been saving up little by little from what I can gather ever since then. I'm up to three thousand five hundred and ten dollars and some change.

Yeah, like, I give you some money 'cause I think it's a good idea and I want you to get the fee you need faster? Some corporations do it for people and I've heard of a TV show that does stuff like that before, but I forget the name of it now.

[A little frown at that. It'd be good if she could've remembered!]

Worse comes to worse I always could listen to Daddy and go back to compete in a pageant or somethin'. If I win, there's always cash prizes.
