CANON INFORMATION NIGHT!

The game's pretty big isn't it? With so many characters it's sometimes hard to keep up with everyone's canon and character backgrounds. Not to mention that the apps aren't always placed in the character's journal, and it leaves you wondering how they are, or even where they come from.

WELL WONDER NO MORE! It's time for a canon and character night!

The idea behind this post is primarily an information exchange. Just fill in this form, and think about factoids and things in a list form. Remember, you're trying to sell your character & canon to others, so talk about what makes them unique and fun. With any luck, you'll learn some new things about other people's characters that you can base relationships or friendships on, or even find a new fandom which catches your interest!

Note: Please mark the top of your thread with the canon. This way, other people in your canon can add whatever they want to it, such as their character stuff, and other cool factoids about the canon that they might remember.

You are perfectly fine and more than allowed to ask questions about the fandoms to the other players if you wish as well!

governorkang: (Order of the Stick)

Character: Kang
Canon: Dragonlance

Interesting things about the character:
- He was forced to kill his brothers and other draconians while growing up by the humans, just to get enough to eat.
- He was the first draconian engineer, receiving the training because of a drunken bet made between human officers about whether or not draconians were intelligent enough to do it.
- He is a pro at building bridges and siege engines.
- He was an adult by age two, and is roughly 46 chronologically (he doesn't know his birthday), but he's actually somewhere between 22-24 in comparison to a human, due to the way draconians age. He doesn't know this, or that he can live to be nearly 1,000 years old.
- Unlike most male draconians, he's not attracted at all to human and elven women.
- He once had a dead-drunk minotaur (who was his commanding officer at the time) launched from a catapult in an attempt to kill him. The minotaur ended up killing a dragon with his horns, and surviving. AND HE WANTED TO DO IT AGAIN.
- He killed an entire nest of fire dragons once, that possibly could have meant the end of Krynn if they'd managed to get out of the mountain.
- It was his group that found the only female eggs (the fire dragons were in the way) and raised them.
- He can see in the infrared spectrum when there's very little to no light, and can see normally in low-light, unlike humans.
- He is a sorceror, 10th level. Which... isn't actually that powerful, but there are some nifty spells he has access to.
- He and his men built a fake dragon. Twice. The first one was to pull a prank on some hotshot baaz (brass draconians), and the second one was full of explosives and used to blow up a bunch of goblins and hobgoblins.

Interesting things about the canon/fandom:
- Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms are the two most popular campaign worlds for D&D.
- Krynn is unique in that it doesn't have orcs or drow, and has draconians and kender (I DENY 4E'S EXISTENCE), and that the world works on a balance between good and evil. Also, dragons shape things a hell of a lot more than on other campaign worlds; it's called Dragonlance for a reason.
- NEVER TRUST TAKHISIS. SHE'S A TRICKY, BACKSTABBING MANIPULATOR.
- There are mentions of Dragonlance characters in the Death Gate Cycle novels (they're written by the same authors) made by another character, who is an expy. Fizban in DL = Zifnab in DGC.
- The fandom is 3/4 Raistlin Majere and kender fanboys/fangirls, and a large amount of the Raistlin fans ship him with his twin brother or his apprentice, Dalamar. The latter is kind of easy with how much Dalamar seems to worship him, though.
- The 2008 animated movie is bad. It's very, very bad. Words cannot describe how bad it is. Trust me.

Anything else?:

NO REALLY IT'S BAD. THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN IN THE BOOKS.
