CANON INFORMATION NIGHT!

The game's pretty big isn't it? With so many characters it's sometimes hard to keep up with everyone's canon and character backgrounds. Not to mention that the apps aren't always placed in the character's journal, and it leaves you wondering how they are, or even where they come from.

WELL WONDER NO MORE! It's time for a canon and character night!

The idea behind this post is primarily an information exchange. Just fill in this form, and think about factoids and things in a list form. Remember, you're trying to sell your character & canon to others, so talk about what makes them unique and fun. With any luck, you'll learn some new things about other people's characters that you can base relationships or friendships on, or even find a new fandom which catches your interest!

Note: Please mark the top of your thread with the canon. This way, other people in your canon can add whatever they want to it, such as their character stuff, and other cool factoids about the canon that they might remember.

You are perfectly fine and more than allowed to ask questions about the fandoms to the other players if you wish as well!

tacking on late---APPLEJACK

[personal profile] appletastic 2011-08-21 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Character: Applejack
Canon: My Little Pony Friendship is Magic

Interesting facts about the character:
-Applejack's element of friendship, her purpose, is honesty. That sometimes translates into biting statements, but she doesn't mean anything bad by it, honest. Unless she thinks you're a swindler or hurting her friends.
-She and Rainbow Dash share the same voice actress, Ashleigh Ball, who is also a professional singer in a band: Hey Ocean! Ashleigh does her own singing for AJ and Rainbow, and it sounds awesome.
-With all that time spent building up her strength to buck apples, Applejack's one of the strongest ponies in Equestria. One kick can knock every single apple from a tree.
-The show's creator and original executive producer, Lauren Faust, wanted to do the show as an update of the G1 ponies from the 1980s. Unfortunately, Hasbro lost its trademark on all the 80s characters except AJ and Spike. Years ago, her deviantArt page had fanart of updated versions of the G1 ponies that eventually got recolored as the FiM designs. It's all laid out here, and note that the only change to Applejack is the addition of a hat (that the merchandise people keep forgetting to add!)
-G1 Applejack is...really not very much like this AJ. She's totally clumsy, keeps making messes, and has 'no horse sense'. A serious and hardworking pony like G4 Applejack would probably be frustrated with her.
