Zuko stares for one more moment.

Before jumping, flailing at the punch, flailing in general. "I'm not ogling her! I'm not looking at her! I didn't even know she was there! Hey, Aang."

Pause.

"AANG?!"

"You totally were! You were staring right at her, man, and be--Aang?!" He spins around to look at Aang, mouth dropping open. It was Aang.

Older. More mature. And also ogling his sister. He slugs the other boy in the shoulder for good measure.

"You stop ogling my little sister too!"

Of course, he's also trying to avoid looking at 'Luly too obviously. Helloooo Nurse!

Luly is... giggling. Just a little, but it's definitely there.

Oh, you Humans. So... weird.

"You should relax," Luly says, gesturing at the three as she sits up. Yowza. "C'mon, join us."

A small, but not that small, part of Katara was really, really amused at the attention she was getting. Zuko was obviously uncomfortable and Sokka was sputtering (and leering?!), and Aang was....

.

..

AANG?!

Katara did more than start-she jolted upright, pausing a moment, and she slowly sat down, legs together a little closer now. She took a breath, and tried to look as casual as possible.

"Aang? You're here! Um, how..how's it going?"

Katara gave Sokka a stern glare. "Yes, join us, and remember that Suki would wonder how you're doing."

A girl knows when a wandering eye is wandering. Plus, its Sokka. Sometimes he can't help it.

"Ow! I'm not oggling, I'm not oggling!" Aang insisted when Sokka punched him, clamping a hand over his eyes, his face going red--even his bald head was a little pink.

"And I'm here because this is a crack thread."

Duh.

There might be some peeking between his fingers, but he's trying really hard not to (but he really doesn't want to NOT peek). At the invitation of the girls, he fidgets for a moment, remembering that Sokka is standing right near him (and that he punches hard) but ultimately intones casually:

"Soooo this is an 'everybody is naked beach'? Is that a beach rule? 'Cause we should all follow the rules. Rules are meant to be followed, yep."

Aang is a good little Airbending monk in many ways, but he will never claim that he's super good at casting off earthly desires, especially in regards to Katara.

Zuko turns and runs. Better to get out of here before Mai shows up.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) Mai is on her way over already. She reaches out to try and halt Zuko in midflight, "Zuko? What are you running from?"

She quirks an eyebrow curiously.

Luly leans to offer a bit of a wave in Mai's direction.

Oh, hey. Maybe that's what.

Sokka puts his own hand over Aang's eyes, the better to contain his...um...un-monk like thoughts.

"It is NOT an everybody is naked beach! It's a 'Let's get away from my naked sister and the really attractive older woman' beach, okay? Okay! What do you think Aang?"

He pitches his voice a bit higher.

"I think that's a great idea, Sokka! Let's go not eat meat and talk about how much we love our fellow man!"

"Awesome! Let's get out of here, Aang!" He grabs Aang and makes to begin dragging him off, averting his eyes from the nekkid women.

Careful, there was a (naked technically, but she was always naked) naga-alien sunning herself in that direction...

Katara for her part was fairly sure that her hormones were kept in check, and of course, most circumstances she was. Now, the idea that her best friend and potential (pfft, yeah) boyfriend, who was now several years older than her and very muscley would not be wearing any clothes had broght about a very weird feeling she was previously unaware of. She took a quick breath, trying to look as nonchalant as ever.

"Aang, I'm tanning with Meluly and..." Katara did NOT know your name, but she would learn it, she promised,Jeka, "...Her. If you want to join us, you're more than welcome."

She understood your feelings Sokka, but she is trying to not look some some sort of random nudist. She looked over at Mai. "Oh hey," she said to Mai, trying to look relaxed.

Poor Aang. He'd love to stay, and have a valid excuse to run around without clothes, but his sense of propriety and not being beaten over the head with a club is winning.

"Sorry, Katara! I don't like clothes either, but I can't stay because I like living," Aang says, hand still clamped over his eyes, as Sokka drags him off. "And uh, I don't think Sokka will let me do that anymore if I don't go with him--bwaah!"

Between Sokka dragging him and Sensor laying in the sand and his whole hands covering his eyes thing it's no surprise that he trips.

"Oof!"

Hands still clasped over his eyes, as he lays in the sand, he says, "...Iiii think I'm going to just lay here for a while."

Surely, this entire situation will just...resolve itself, and he's still having trouble kickstarting his brain. It makes it hard to do things like...walking. In a straight line.

Mai opens he mouth to respond to Katara, eying the naked women with a rather displeased air (she's never understood why some women feel the need to shwo so much skin - she much prefers a good set of robes). Then she notices Aang and her expression turns to one of bafflement, "...the Avatar? He's here?"

She's still got Zuko's arm in one hand, though.

Aang holds up a finger, one hand taking the place of both to cover his eyes.

"Crack thread!"

"Oh. Right."

Mai sighs and looks up at the sky for a moment, before shaking her head, "Which doesn't explain why everyone is getting naked."

"Hey, I did this because I wanted to," Katara said, indignant. "Then people came and started staring and stuff, and then Sokka wanted to beat people off. I'm just trying to relax from death and zombies, thank you!"

And to show her defiance, she stretched out again, much like Meluly and tried to concentrate on the sun.

Besidesm they were mostly staring at Meluly anyway, as if she could blame them.

"I. I wasn't looking," Zuko gibbers. "I walked away."

So don't break up with and/or kill him, Mai!

Beat... beat people off... Luly sniggers, trying to keep her amusement from being too obvious, and straightens up a little more.

"H-hey, you should join us!" she calls to Mai, grinning widely. "Some tanning looks like it would do you good."

You'll get talked to later, Zuko. She doesn't blame you anyway. Mai's expression goes bland again as she stares at Luly (quite carefully keeping her eyes on the other woman's face). Her words and tone are deadpan, although there's ice in her glare.

"And end up looking like you? I'll pass."

"Really Mai, there's no need to be rude!" Katara said, looking a little annoyed. "After all, Meluly was here before any of us, and I happen to think she has great skin. Where's she's from, her species are a lot freer about stuff like this. Nobody was watching anyone, at least not where Zuko is concerned."

Because really, come on. Zuko knew better than to have a wandering eye anyway. He wasn't like a certain water tribe boy who seemed to have girls fawning over him wherever he went...

"Just because she's freer about it doesn't mean the rest of us want to see it, Katara."

"Which is why we were created with eyes and a head attached to a neck to turn away from what we don't want to see," Katara replied hotly. She refused to be embarassed in a place she was pretty sure she'd never be able to be this free again.

That, and she really did take a liking to Meluly. She just wished Aang had stayed. She missed him

"It's a wide-open beach."

Mai cocked a hand to indicate the very wide and clear beach (and the various crew members running about).

"It's not exactly private."

"I have a very nice shade, thanks," Meluly says in Mai's direction. Her tone's quite lighthearted--she's self-assured enough that the semi-insult just glides off her like water off a duck. "And this is perfectly natural, unless you were born with those robes attached."

She pauses a moment. "Besides, your friend there seemed to like it." Oh, yes, she's on to you, Mai and Zuko.

Katara opened her mouth to say something, but Meluly's retort seemed to actually say exactly what she might have said.

"They can not look too," Katara said, "If it bothers them. It isn;t like I'll ever get the chance to do this again."

Still, she's holding off sitting cross legged for the moment.
