This is a new experience for Jamie! He's not the kind of guy that people typically describe as super cool.

Jamie likes Vega, if just a little begrudgingly. He still HAET BACKDRAFT, but thinks Vega's a good kid at heart. He's entertained notions of teaching him about Zoid maintenance, since (I think) Vega mentioned once that he's interested in it but never got to do any back home. If Jamie saw him more frequently he'd probably nag him about staying out of trouble and stuff, at least partly because Jamie's got this "I'm an adult and thus should try to look out for the kids on the ship" mindset.

Also, lol only other known survivor of Jamie's universe. That makes him feel a little protective, not that he'd ever admit it. Or that he's even entirely aware of it.

He's also curious about the Fury and would kind of like to see how smart it is and what it knows about stuff, but he doesn't entirely trust it not to try to bite him in half if he gets too close to it.

Vega would totally let him "talk" to Fury through a terminal, he loves sharing things when he can. Which would be a great excuse for me to write for it and I loooove doing that <.<.
I'd love to thread them hanging out some. Vega loves geeking out about Zoids, they're what his brain runs on, and he's so disappointed that nobody else knows about them.

And he definitely needs people teaching him to be less dumb in general, and there's a lot he could learn from Jamie. And, well, Jamie dealing with a kid who thinks he's super cool is kind of adorable. XD
