The "What does your character think of mine?" Meme!
Simple meme, guys. :D
Post with your characters. Other people can post with theirs and ask what your character thinks of theirs in the game. (Answer OOCly)
This might be useful for all of you doing character lists.
Have fun!

Re: Steve Burnside
Re: Steve Burnside
Steve doesn't exactly know what to call his feelings for Claire anymore. He had it labeled as "romantic love" but that's the only way he knew how to describe it at the time. She's desperately important to him, since she was the first person to show him any real kindness after all those months in prison and the first person he let himself trust again-- so he figures if it weren't for her, he would have died miserable and alone. In exchange for that, he will do absolutely anything for her-- lay down in front of a bus, fight by her side,
fight off a mutant virus with the power of love, you name it, he will do whatever it takes to protect her (though he is well aware that she is not the type who needs protecting... he will do it anyway.)At the same time he is extremely hypersensitive and self-conscious about exactly how helpful he is to Claire. He desperately wants to impress her or feel assured that she holds him in the same "partner" regard as she would, say, Leon. He's self-conscious about suddenly being so much younger than her and is very much overcompensating for it. He considers his own death and his current infection a great personal failure and worries that his very presence is upsetting to her or that he's going to lose it and attack her again. And he never really had the self-esteem to think Claire would feel the same way he does for her. No, much of this is not healthy whatsoever but we're also talking about a kid in severe need of some therapy.
LUCKILY he is getting better. Her rejecting him sort of helped shake loose the hero-worship (especially since he was mad that she waited so long) so he's started to lower her off the pedestal and he's coming to terms with the fact that "they" are just never going to happen. It makes it easier for him to talk to her and as he starts settling down he'll be able to appreciate her as his closest friend rather than the Supreme Pillar of All That is Good in the World.
Don't expect he will ever stop being protective of her, though.
