I feel vaguely bad posting this since we've had a few other memes over the last few days but. I wanna spam the hell out of everyone. .___.

In honour of the fact that it's Valentine's tomorrow in my corner of the world, I bring you the Blind Date Meme!

Somehow, someway, your character has agreed to a blind date (or several). Maybe they were coerced into it, maybe they don't actually mind the idea, maybe it's just Stacy messing with everyone's heads again, but they're here now. And at the very least, it shouldn't be boring for them.

♥ Make a comment for your character, you can outline a mini-setting if you want. (Think along the lines of the 'Waking up in bed' meme we had a little while back.)

♥ Other characters comment to that as the other half of the blind date!

[He's always hungry, it seems. Or at least willing to eat.]

Aye!

[He's eyeing that basket again, although he's trying not to be too obvious about it. He's failing miserably.]

So...um.

[With an effort, he turns his attention to Ahava and away from the food.]

This is a nice place. Why did ye decide to pick it?

[Ahava won't comment about that, but she will start opening the basket and unpacking the food. There's sandwiches of various kinds and fruit, not to mention a stack of cookies and a bottle of white wine.]

Help yourself.

[She smiles again.]

I like it here. It's nice, peaceful, out of the way... What isn't to like?

Heey, sandwiches!

[He looks enormously pleased by the thought of sandwiches, and takes one quickly.]

Oh, it's been awhile. Thank ye ever so much.

[He nods at her statement about the park, although he doesn't respond right away. Mostly it's because he's busily engrossed in making the sandwich disappear. After a moment he swallows and sighs happily.]

It is peaceful, isn't it? It's nice to be outdoors, too.

[He snags a second sandwich, unrepentantly. She did say help himself, after all. He gets a piece of fruit for good measure, but seems to be ignoring the wine.]

Do you like to think up outdoor stuff often?

[She laughs at that.]

I'm glad you're enjoying them.

[Now that Jamie's had first choice, Ahava helps herself to a couple of sandwiches as well and an apple.]

It is nice out here, and I miss being able to go to places like this. As big as Stacy is, its still hard to forget you're on a ship unless you go into the city or the sensoriums. It makes me want to at least try and feel fresh air on my face.

[He does look a little bit sheepish as she laughs, but after a moment, his face breaks out in a smile and he chuckles.]

Aye, well. They're good sandwiches.

[The second one he actually does eat much slower, now that he's not in immediate danger of having his stomach rumble and ruin the mood.]

It wouldna be so bad on Stacy if everything didna pulse all the time, but ye have a point. Even in the city or the sensoriums, it's still...different, I guess.

[He pauses for a moment, then looks thoughtful.]

Although, ye do have a lot to explore, which helps. Otherwise I think I'd be verra bored by now.

Exploring definitely helps. But I'd be careful about letting Stacy hear you're bored. Next thing you know she'll have come up with something else to make us all run around panicking in an effort to keep things interesting.

[It's meant to be a joke, but it also sounds like Ahava wouldn't put it past the ship. She finishes off her own sandwich and stretches.]

You know, it's such a nice day, I think we can skip to dessert, don't you?

[Without further ado she produces a cream cake from the basket]

I hope you're not allergic or anything?

[For a moment, it doesn't seem that Jamie realizes that was supposed to be a joke.]

Well, depending on what she had us running around and doing, it could be...ohhhhh. I see.

[He quickly smiles, pretending he completely understood all along. When the cream cake is produced, his eyes widen and he shakes his head very vigorously. No, he's not allergic.]

[Ahava manages to not laugh at Jamie's initial confusion, but she does smile as though she finds the entire mix-up endearing.]

Yes, with fresh strawberries.

[That's added almost teasingly.]

So, can I interest you in a slice?

[Really, you had him with the cake. But the strawberries are an extra nice touch.]

Oh yes, please.

[He's even more enthusiastic about the idea than he was with the sandwiches - if that's possible. After a moment, he does seem to realize that he's maybe a little too enthusiastic, and looks at Ahava a little sheepishly.]

Ye must think I'm daft, being this excited about food.
