I feel vaguely bad posting this since we've had a few other memes over the last few days but. I wanna spam the hell out of everyone. .___.

In honour of the fact that it's Valentine's tomorrow in my corner of the world, I bring you the Blind Date Meme!

Somehow, someway, your character has agreed to a blind date (or several). Maybe they were coerced into it, maybe they don't actually mind the idea, maybe it's just Stacy messing with everyone's heads again, but they're here now. And at the very least, it shouldn't be boring for them.

♥ Make a comment for your character, you can outline a mini-setting if you want. (Think along the lines of the 'Waking up in bed' meme we had a little while back.)

♥ Other characters comment to that as the other half of the blind date!

♥ SPAM HAPPENS.

[ A couple of kids on a waverunner, that's what we've got here. Kaylee herself is completely in awe. ]

They're almost majestic...

[ And at the flips? Kaylee all but falls off the waverunner, she's so focused on them. She rights herself with a laugh. ]

I agree. I've never seen them this close before!

[When she slips, he takes a hand from the handlebar and tugs her arm more securely around him.]

Whoa! Maybe we should head back to shore. Are you hungry?

[ She's holding on tighter, all on her own, but his added tug is a nice comfort. ]

Hungry? [ You've got her interest now, Billy. ] All depends on what kinda food might beat out this nice ride...

How does a picnic sound to you? Any sort of sandwich you'd like, some juices, and strawberry parfaits for dessert?

[Billy drifts closer to the shoreline, scanning the coast for interesting places that might make good picnic spots.]

A picnic sounds shiny. [ Especially the strawberry parfait part...

She points to a nice sandy little cove, decently shielded from the wind but still open enough to look at the scenery. ] Would that suit the purpose?

Affirmative!

[He steers, carefully parks, then helps her off. But where's the food?

He pulls out a watch and presses a few buttons, resulting in a small basket landing at their feet. Yay, teleportation!]

So...shall we eat?

[ She sits down in the sand, pleased as pie, and waits for him to sit aw well before pulling out the contents of the basket. ]

[He sits, grins, and takes a few tiny pieces.]

I hope this is acceptable. I wasn't given much time to prepare---between receiving the notice and being teleported out here, I had approximately twenty minutes.

[ Perfectly pleased, she pops a bite of her sandwich into her mouth and gives a happy hum. ]

[He chews thoughtfully for a little bit.]

I didn't have anyone in particular in mind, so seein' you here was a pleasant surprise.

[ A pause, before she giggles. ]

Don't think there's anybody who coulda done it better, so I gotta say thanks to you, too, for makin' it such a nice surprise. And full of all sorts of good things, too.

[ It's hard to beat the satisfaction of flattering someone. It really is. She can't seem to swallow fast enough to answer him, though. ]

Really!? We could!?

Affirmative! An old friend of mine once taught me how to safely take a person diving. We could see the coral reefs if you wanted to.

[He tilts his head, leaning over in concern.]

[ It's all sounding too good to be true. She gives him a suspicious glance, though her eyes are still laughing and excited. ]

Ain't just pullin' my leg, are ya?

[He looks vaguely hurt, but doesn't really mean it---joking, he's learning too.]

Why would I do that? I'm honestly telling the truth. If we have the opportunity to meet again near the ocean, I'll take you diving.

[He stands and offers his hand] Would you like to shake on it?

[ She stands up herself, and gives his hand a good shake. ]

[He smiles one more time, because seriously, it's hard not to around this woman.]

[ She likes it when people smile. It makes her feel like she's done a good deed. ]

[ Her own smile might be a bit coy. ] Thanks again, Billy. One of the best dates I been on.

[Well...wait, at the end of a date, his mama always taught him to...yes. He leaned over and brushed a fleeting kiss against her cheek.]
